Responsibilities

The NiagaraFiles project is currently looking for a Systems Engineer to help on the project with agency T&D (transfer and decommission) efforts which impact the NiFi team. Many of these T&D efforts generate dataflow requirements for this project. The Systems Engineering team works to review DMR's and assist in Engineering the final dataflow solutions the Operations team then implements. In addition the team Systems Engineer would also participate in dataflow modernization efforts migrating current flows on hardware to the virtual cloud environment. This entails evaluating the dataflow, building out requirements, then working with Operations team members in rebuilding the dataflows in the new cloud architecture. The team SE also works with the NiFi development team in clarifying any special data processing requirements as needed when code enhancements are requested.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Twenty (20) years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required. Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required

Desired Qualifications:

 

  • Experienced with Mission Systems Experienced in performing Transfer & Decommission efforts of legacy to new systems
  • Experienced working with mission data formats Experienced with reviewing and processing, or creating Dataflow Management Requests, DMRs.
  • Experienced with Apache NiFi functionality and building DataFlows is desired Experienced managing analytical needs and requirements Experienced in creating Systems Architectural Diagrams depicting software and system functions.

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
