Responsibilities

We are HIRING!  We are adding an IBM MQ Subject Matter Expert to the team. This position require daytime (8am – 5pm) and share on-call after hours (5pm - 8am) and all weekend support rotation. This is 100% remote.

 

What you will do: 

 

  • Resolve all MQ issues assigned to the team
  • Drive problem resolutions to ensure business continuity
  • Work on-call shift rotations and weekends to accommodate maintenance restrictions and after-hours response.
  • Improve quality and ensure consistent and timely resolution of incidents
  • Implement necessary steps to prevent future incidents
  • Audit network devices to confirm network policies and guidelines meet or exceed targets for successfully audits
  • Perform change and management role on all MQ and MFT platforms.  Implement MQ and MFT change and incident requests based on processes
  • Install, upgrade and maintain IBM MQ component
  • Document processes in accordance with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) requirements

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of experience. Additional 4 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree. 
  • Experience administering, configuring, installing, and upgrading IBM MQ
  • Strong UNIX Solaris / Linux systems administration skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and resolution of IBM MQ incidents and change requests
  • Experience with management of SSL, TLS, data encryption, and certificates
  • Strong scripting experience (Shell, Perl, Python, Json)
  • Experience with AWS environment and technologies (S3, BLOB, MQ SQS)
  • Basic understanding of networking
  • Professional, responsible attitude and can work independently
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work on-call after hours (5pm - 8am) and all weekend support rotation
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance

  • Ability to work effectively in a team, and with clients

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
