Senior Application Developer

Peraton is seeking a Senior Application Developer for the Department of Defense (DoD).  The successful candidate will support activities that range across application development, maintenance of COTS and GOTS software within responsibility of development, integration of the application with peripheral devices and system platform and Operating System images, as well as Systems administration / Data Base Administration and platform maintenance.

 What You’ll Do:

•  Responsible for solving engineering problems relating to resources and facilities management, database planning and design, systems analysis and design, network services, programming, conversion and implementation support, network services project management, data/records management, and other computer related services.
• Determine program objectives and requirements and develop standards and guides for diverse engineering and scientific activities.
• Guide the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
• Serve as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects.
• Provide the overall administration and maintenance of existing middleware components and the creation of new middleware components and engage in all aspects of middleware administration including architecture, design, configuration, tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, installation, upgrades, and deployment to various environments
• Support the software maintenance of all portions of the software applications in accordance with applicable DoD and DMDC policies managing all the different types of including, but not limited to, those indicated below:
• Install or uninstall cluster software and configure and administer cluster software packages.
• Apply cluster software patches, hotfixes, and service packs.
• Maintain Operational Procedures documentation for cluster operations including but not limited to, Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Microsoft Clustering, Virtual Machine Ware (VMWARE) high availability, etc.
• Provide routine and emergency bug fixes, software changes caused by dependent third-party library updates, Law and/or Policy directing software changes.

Required Qualifications

• Clearance Requirement: Interim TS
• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience, MS/MA with 6 years of experience, PhD with 3 years of experience.
• Must be a U.S citizen
• Experience with Java 
• Experience with Agile environment

 Desired Qualifications

• ITIL 4
• Security+ and/or Network+
