Responsibilities

We are looking to add an IBM System Administrator to our team of talented professionals.

 

What you'll do:

  • Work with customer to identify all configuration items that will require monitoring.
  • Configure and manage the existing monitoring infrastructure to facilitate and implement additional monitoring.
  • Create workflow and processes to handle to system monitoring requests.
  • Work with system administrators to install and configure the IBM ITM Agentless / Agent on systems and for applications.
  • Work with system owners to define additional/special monitoring requirements.
  • Work with system owners and network team to monitor network availability and capacity for all systems in the environment.
  • Develop and maintain reporting requirements for alerts (live dashboards and historical reporting).
  • Work with the system owners to define and maintain alert notification methods for key personnel.
  • Responsible for adding new managed systems into the monitoring infrastructure along with their monitoring services.
  • Define/create process for temporary configuration changes (i.e. stopping alerts during system maintenance if applicable).
  • Define/create process for requesting configuration changes to the environment as needs change.
  • Develop NetCool interface with BMC Remedy for auto-generated incident tickets.
  • Install, configure and manage servers, storage, operating system, and updates for monitoring system infrastructure.
  • Address any security queries from IA and IAVA’s, apply security patches, and RMF activities.
  • Create scripts and tools to achieve tasks in support of monitoring and reporting activities.
  • Install and configure IBM ITM/Instana/netcool application upgrades and patches.
  • Monitor IBM ITM/Instana/netcool applications and databases.
  • Evaluate application performance due to interaction with various security and point products, advise solutions and best practices.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
  • Must have active Security+ certification
  • Experience with IBM ITM, Netcool or Instana
  • Must have active Public Trust
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
