Peraton is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our team in support of the government customer’s Office of Compliance for Cyber and Operations. The Office of Compliance is critical in ensuring that the government’s operational mission can leverage mission authorities while adhering to all necessary compliance standards, including relevant laws, policies, and guidance. As a Technical Writer, you will be tasked with producing and managing technical documentation related to the compliance program, facilitating the operational efficiency of the mission while ensuring all documentation is thorough, clear, and meets high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation Creation & Management: Write, edit, and maintain a variety of technical documentation, including but not limited to system engineering documentation, operational procedures, testing protocols, and user manuals. Ensure all materials align with government-approved templates and formats.
Technical Materials Development: Prepare clear and concise documentation for hardware and software systems. This includes:
Installation and configuration guides.
How-to documentation for end users and system administrators.
Software code documentation and system operations documentation.
Collaborative Editing & Review: Work closely with project managers, software engineers, and systems architects to gather information and ensure accuracy in technical documentation. Actively participate in the review, revision, and update of all technical publications.
Field and Data Documentation: Produce field, data definition, and data flow documentation. Ensure data flows, system requirements, and operational procedures are well-defined and clearly documented for ease of understanding and implementation.
Technical Publications: Convert complex technical material into clear, readable documents suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences. Format documents and consult with engineers to produce user-friendly guides, including pamphlets, user manuals, and operational handbooks.
Compliance Support: Provide ongoing technical documentation support to the customer’s compliance program, helping ensure that all documentation aligns with the latest regulatory, security, and compliance requirements.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Seven (7) years of relevant experience and an Associate’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physical Science, or a related technical field OR
Five (5) years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
Three (3) years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree.
Relevant Experience: Experience in signals analysis (e.g., COMINT, ELINT, FISINT, PROFORMA) or the design and engineering of aerospace, communications, electronic, or industrial systems.
Technical Expertise: Proficient in signal analysis and related techniques. A deep understanding of signal compliance implications in TechSIGINT operations is critical.
Systems Knowledge: Experience with legacy TechSIGINT applications and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision to complete complex assignments.
Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work with stakeholders to build strong networks and communicate complex technical details to non-experts.
