Responsibilities

Peraton requires Systems Administrators to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3.  Positions are located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL, and at the TSOC and Component locations in the United States and abroad.  

  

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract(SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs),and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365. 

 

Systems Administrators perform tier one and two network support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. Position requirements may vary depending on location, system complexity, the types of operation and additional network systems, and the size of the supported organization. Experience with specific types of hardware and software systems used by the Government is required. Systems Administrators monitor and control one or more mid-range application servers. This position studies program operating instructions to ensure proper configuration and effective operations. Systems Administrators continuously observe the operation of assigned applications and storage devices to prevent hardware or software failure. This position manipulates systems in accordance with standard procedures to ensure operations when individual parts of a system malfunction. Systems Administrators confer with senior administrators, systems and applications engineers, and storage personnel to correct errors requiring a change of instructions or sequences of operations. Systems Administrators maintains operating records such as machine performance and production reports. 

  

Systems Administrators provide various project management, technical, and administrative support for assets employed at approved global locations and support the development of policies and procedures. They must possess strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, in addition to in-depth technical knowledge of the Government’s systems’ hardware and software. 

  

The Systems Administrator is a key member of our IT team, responsible for the hands-on administration and support of Global Enterprise IT services. This includes the daily management and maintenance of Group Policy and Licensing systems and servers, ensuring the smooth operation of Group Policies, Remote Desktop Licenses, Key Management Server (KMS), and Active Directory-Based Activation (ADBA).

 

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day management and troubleshooting of Group Policy Objects (GPOs) within a large-scale Active Directory environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of client/server, networking, and internet technologies, coupled with practical experience in maintaining and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows domains.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Group Policy Objects, ensuring compliance with local tenet settings and DISA STIG requirements.
  • Administer and troubleshoot KMS and AD-integrated licensing for operating systems and Office products at an enterprise scale.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for supporting the Windows infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure alignment with DOD GPO security guidelines.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents and service requests related to Group Policy and Licensing systems.
  • Perform regular system health checks and proactively address potential issues.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems and processes.
  • Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Domain controller troubleshooting
    • Active Directory configurations
    • Identity management

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Min 9 years with HS degree, 7 years with AS/AA degree, 5 years with BS/BA
  • A DoD TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and associated client products.
  • Practical experience administering Active Directory, including KMS Licensing and GPOs.
  • Working knowledge of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) standards.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting using tools like PowerShell, resource kits, and diagnostic utilities.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing and troubleshooting Active Directory, including delegation and security models.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and support production Windows Servers in a mission-critical environment.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining security best practices within an enterprise environment.
  • Proven ability to manage and troubleshoot Active Directory GPOs, accounts, and security groups.

Certification Requirements:

  • DoDD 8570.01-M IAT II AND
  • MCSA Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 OR
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate OR
  • VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA) OR
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate OR
  • Azure Security Engineer Associate 

Additional Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work shifts and weekends as needed.
  • Willingness to travel, with less than 10% required.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
