Responsibilities

We are Hiring! Our CDC Program in Atlanta GA is loking to a add a Web Development Project Manager.  The qualified candidate will manage multiple complex, Agency-level web/IT projects from inception through deployment. The candidate must have experience managing website, digital, and IT projects that support content strategy, website redesigns/transitions, web content management, web apps, communication, and/or other digital media technologies.  

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate project stakeholders to define objectives and scope of new projects.
  • Work with project team members and project stakeholders on technical details to ensure the solution addresses the objectives, is supported by stakeholders, and aligns with CDC’s web content strategy and appropriate policies/governance.
  • Create and maintain the project plan and schedule, working with the project team to identify tasks, estimates, and sequencing. Summarize the project plan to convey major milestones and solution delivery to stakeholders. For IT projects, establish and manage the project budget including monthly cost reporting.
  • Maintain the project schedule to ensure progress and for use in external communication.   
  • Lead project teams with agile processes and tools. Set up tasks, backlogs, agile boards, etc. in project management tool (e.g. Jira).
  • Work with stakeholders and users across the Agency to ensure they are engaged, and their needs are addressed by the project.
  • Ensure proper execution of requirements gathering, design, development, quality assurance, and other tasks in the project lifecycle.
  • Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate, lead, and document project team meetings.
  • Coordinate and/or create project documentation. For IT projects, this includes deliverables for governance reviews as part of CDC’s Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC).
  • Work with project stakeholders and project team to ensure projects have a clear plan/schedule and are on-track to meet the objectives.
  • Communicate regularly with project stakeholders on project progress and status.
  • Work with customer leadership to define priorities and new projects.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to requests and support needs from Agency users and stakeholders. Ensure appropriate use of solutions by users; this includes content strategy, content templates, template package, content management system, etc.  Work with other teams to identify and address training needs or future enhancements.  
  • Conduct operational analysis and generate reports on system usage, metrics, user support, customer satisfaction, etc. Includes analyzing data from content management solutions.
  • Research and report on relevant government/industry trends and best practices to identify opportunities for new or improved web/digital solutions.

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • 10 years of experience, may have supervisory or lead experience
  • 10 years of demonstrated proficiency in website development/maintenance and managing website projects.
  • Experience leading large web/application development projects for digital media, web content, communication, and/or web solutions, including use of agile/iterative methodologies and tools.
  • Experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and web metrics/analytics (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics).
  • Experience in digital communication campaigns and multi-channel delivery including social media management and mobile apps.
  • Experience with content strategy, information architecture, user experience, and web content/layout.
  • Experience in Website Programming – HTML, XHTML, XML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Responsive Design.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat.
  • Experience with Section 508 requirements and website accessibility.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management with strong customer-focus – directing and coordinating all aspects of a project from inception through completion.
  • Demonstrated experience with meeting deadlines with both timeliness and quality and with balancing and prioritizing work across multiple projects.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to changing events and competing priorities; flexibility.
  • High initiative; able to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously either as a leader or key contributor.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in a virtual environment, working only from the US.
  • Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Agency clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Understanding of the CDC public health mission.
  • Knowledge of CDC web design tools, design standards, and Agency Web templates.
  • Leadership experience with public health website/technology projects such as for CDC, state health departments, or medical/health websites.
  • Leadership experience working in a government contracting environment.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
