Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an Infrastructure Support Deputy Manager (Technical) to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of Department of State (DOS) Bureau Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program. CAEIO provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting CA services globally. 

The Deputy Manager will report to the Infrastructure Support Manager and be a member of the Infrastructure Support leadership team that includes the Manger and the Deputy Manager (Operations). The Infrastructure Support leadership team ensures the operation of the enterprise meets defined infrastructure service levels and serves, oversees operations and technical teams, and is responsible for optimizing, standardizing, and improving storage solutions, including facilitating eventual migrations to cloud environments.

 

The Infrastructure Support team supports CA servers, storage platforms, systems, networking equipment, and hosted systems in use at DOS domestic and overseas facilities. The team works closely with other program team members, other contractors, DOS leadership and business stakeholders to monitor performance, address faults and security service delivery, and crafts and implements solutions to issues and new requirements in the operations environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and technical guidance on projects, O&M, troubleshooting, systems, and network analysis.
  • Support the personnel, applications, and appliances employed to maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight and support for a team of network and firewall engineers performing technical administrative and troubleshooting duties for Cisco and Dell switches, Palo Alto, Cisco, Azure, and F5 and Broadcom Layer 7 network appliances.
  • Work closely with senior team leads and systems engineers to build and maintain complex enterprise systems (for example, network, Linux, Windows, virtualization).
  • Oversee and support security remediation and patching related to infrastructure environments including OS, Network devices, and hardware and virtualization infrastructure.
  • Participate in internal workshops and provide presentations of the proposed solutions.
  • Review technical and user documentation as required.

Location: The Deputy Manager must be local to the Washington, DC area. This position is currently hybrid. The Deputy Manager must be available to work in Peraton’s office in Sterling, VA, at least one day a week.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and an active SECRET Government Security Clearance.
  • At least 10 years’ network, OS, or database operations experience.
  • At least 6 years’ experience managing operations teams.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, f5 local traffic managers, Broadcom Layer 7 Application Gateways, or Azure Network Services.
  • Experience with Windows, RedHat Linux, and Oracle Linux.
  • Experience with Oracle Databases hosted on RHEL, OL, or Exadata Platforms.
  • Experience with VMWare, NetApp, and Dell Data Domains.
  • Experience with ServiceNow and/or workflow tools such as Jira.

Education and Experience: 10 years of experience, may have supervisory or lead experience.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
