Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Systems Administrator to become part of Peraton’s Citizens Security & Public Services, Department of Homeland Security team. 

 

Informatica Administrator is primarily responsible for supporting Informatica Administration, ETL development and support activities. Role will be responsible to support the environment, PowerCenter and Informatica Data Quality (IDQ); requires prior experience installing, upgrading and supporting Informatica tools. Also responsible to onboard other user groups onto the shared platforms and engaging with the architecture team for future environment changes, additional add-on usage and upgrades. Part of responsibilities is to develop ETL processes, developing ETL mapping, mapping documents and SQL queries.

 

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain IT systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure, including hardware, software, and associated processes.
  • Support daily operations by monitoring system health, identifying issues, and resolving problems efficiently.
  • Provide second-level problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution for technical issues.
  • Perform AIX Systems Administration, ensuring the reliability and security of AIX-based environments.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for AIX-related system issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
  • Deliver expert operational and technical support for Informatica P360 and Active VOS platforms.
  • Continuously monitor Informatica capabilities, establish baselines, and remediate any system health concerns.
  • Mentor, train, and develop Informatica Administrators to enhance team expertise.
  • Develop, document, and enforce policies and procedures to maintain data integrity, change control, customization, and system usage.
  • Define, implement, and maintain regression testing best practices for Informatica product upgrades.
  • Quickly identify, triage, and resolve Informatica system issues, collaborating with internal and external support teams as needed.
  • Participate in the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) on-call rotation for system monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Support Windows-based Production, QA, and Development environments for Informatica Data Quality and Informatica PowerCenter 10.x.
  • Administer Informatica environments, including installation, upgrades, and ongoing support.
  • Establish best practices for Informatica repository management, security controls, version control, code migration, scripting, logging, and deployment.
  • Troubleshoot system outages, restore service, and collaborate with vendors when necessary to determine the root cause and implement preventive measures.
  • Provide production and development support for ETL and data processing workflows.
  • Ensure cross-training within the team to maintain coverage and minimize knowledge gaps.
  • Design, develop, and maintain database objects, including tables, views, and stored procedures, to support reporting and analytics.
  • Analyze and resolve data quality issues, inconsistencies, and performance gaps.
  • Identify and resolve database and query performance issues to improve system efficiency.
  • Work closely with business users to understand data and reporting requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with business users and QA teams to support user acceptance testing (UAT) and issue resolution.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience or Associates degree and 7 years of experience or a Masters degree and 3 years of experience or a High School diploma and 9 years of experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on knowledge sharing and cross-training to ensure team efficiency.
  • Eexperience in system administration, including implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Experience managing IT system infrastructure, including monitoring, problem resolution, and escalation procedures.
  • Proficiency in AIX system administration, including system configuration, security, and performance optimization.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve Tier 3 level system issues.
  • Experience working with mainframe, mini, or client/server-based architectures.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
