Responsibilities

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: 

Come join a flexible and responsive IT environment to quickly meet evolving and changing mission priorities for an IC customer. Mission operations supported include strategic and tactical intelligence analysis and integration; screening, vetting, and watchlisting; situational awareness; and strategic planning. Operate and maintain the IT environment, integrate new systems into the environment from separate developers, design, develop, and implement enhancements to the IT environment that will provide the stability and flexibility required to meet mission needs and support other mission partners. Follow a DevSecOps execution model that integrates services, hardware, software, and data support; incorporates new sources; maintains ingestion services as formats/schemas change; improves throughput and efficiency; develops and deploys self-service tools to exploit and use data more quickly, thoroughly, and robustly; and manages compliance requirements as may be necessary to satisfy service, application, tool, data, and other IT mission needs. Though the majority of applications have been migrated to the cloud, there are multiple independent on-premise networks. Maintain hardware and network connections inside the enclaves and other external mission partners; the majority of all servers are virtualized.

 

Applicant will: 

 

  • Implement and optimize the computerized database systems that support the customer infrastructure.  
  • Implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases.  
  • Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases.  
  • Review database design and integration of systems, provide backup recovery and make recommendation regarding enhancements and/or improvements.  
  • Maintain security and integrity controls.  
  • Formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.  
  • Administer a variety of database systems, such as Microsoft SQL Server, and other Database Management Systems (DBMS).  
  • Develop and enforce database administration and user standards and procedures; audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands.  
  • Oversee the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication between multiple SQL Servers and remote sites.  
  • Support the development and creation of SQL and web-based databases and database systems.  
  • Review technical designs, reports, documentation, and other technical materials produced by the program. 
  • Create and maintain high-level reporting systems using products such as Crystal Reports; researches and implements new databases and online technology. 
  • Provide technical support and consultation in the review and acceptance of deliverables related to the system platform modernization. 
  • Perform database directory maintenance. 
  • Evaluate the database environment, document its function and create diagrams of its interactions to support platform modernization and Database as a Service (DBaaS). 
  • Support numerous databases, maintain copybooks to coincide with database changes, manage Views, that facilitate interaction with database files. 

**This position is contingent on contract award.**

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Database Management Systems (DBMS) and Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL and PL/SQL queries.
  • Experience with Oracle database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based Oracle solutions (Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS for Oracle).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional - OCP) are desirable.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and big data technologies in an Oracle environment.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for Oracle database management.
  • Experience with Oracle Exadata, GoldenGate, and partitioning techniques.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
