Responsibilities

Peraton requires SATOPS Planners to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3 EOM. This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida. 

 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365. 

 

  • Provides liaison to SOF Communications Professionals as it pertains to operations, installation, maintenance and reporting support to the customer Wide Area Network (WAN), satellite telecommunications infrastructure and SOFTACS systems. Candidate will liaison to ensure full interoperability and seamless connectivity between all SCAMPI garrison and SOF deployable tactical communications systems; operate and maintain wide area networks between designated sites at various levels of security classification.
  • Provide necessary services and logistical support required for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining scalable satellite communication devices (i.e. SDN-L/M gateways, BGAN, MICROSAT, GATR, GX & SCOSS antenna systems).
  • Performs network systems monitoring/management/troubleshooting, incident tracking, coordination, and reporting (e.g., performance, problem, change, capacity, security); escalate incidents to administrators/engineers and management teams for resolution; submit change requests, submit trouble tickets, alert support teams to issues and tickets in the cue; track and provide updates to support SLA's
  • Performs satellite bandwidth management
  • iDirect hub administration, Q/C, and service desk duties
  • Attend appropriate engineering and customer meetings
  • Perform Authorized Service Interruption (ASI) satellite and SDN impact assessment and notification
  • Coordinate with COCOMs/Services/Agencies (CC/S/As) and TSOCs on SATCOM related issues as required
  • PIM management
  • Requests Commercial SATCOM beam change/moves
  • Perform all SATCOM planning and management functions for COMSATCOM and MILSATCOM
  • Manage the usage and performance of voice, video and/or data communications over FDMA/TDMA IP over Satellite Networks.
  • Provide integration and administration of network encryption devices.
  • Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
  • Perform site surveys, technical planning, systems integration and customer coordination meetings.
  • Submit Satellite Access Requests/Gateway Access Requests (SARs/GARS) and review Satellite Access Authorizations (SAAs) as required IAW operational requirements
  • Review operational configuration files for accuracy and correctness as required IAW operational requirements
  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand network requirements and be exact in assessments
  • Be able to conduct proof of concept testing of hardware, software, and services
  • Perform both hardware and software updates and/or changes to equipment as necessary
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks cross-functionally across internal and external teams work internally with Project Managers to design, identify, recommend, and coordinate network solutions for the SOF Communicator
  • Self-motivated team player, excellent problem-solving skills and solid written and verbal communications skills 

Qualifications

Requirements: 

 

  • Min 12 years with HS Diploma, 10 years with AS/AA degree, 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, or 3 years with PHD 
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance is required 
  • Knowledge of SATCOM principles and technique.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and support of routers and switches.
  • Knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.
  • Minimum (2) years' experience in a direct SATCOM role.
  • Working knowledge of SCAMPI equipment, SDN-L/M gateways, and network encryption devices.
  • Respond to trouble calls and be able to determine and implement appropriate fix action and document all actions in accordance with established policies.
  • Strong communication skills (written & oral).
  • Ability to deal with customers at all levels in stressful situations.
  • This position may require shift and weekend work
  • This position may require on-call status
  • This position may require deployments to CONUS and OCONUS locations worldwide, and may include hazardous duty areas
  • Deployments can be of a duration of up to 180 days; this position typically deploys on an as-required basis

Desired Qualifications:

  • Joint Interoperability SOF Tool (JIST) SAR/GAR processing for SOFLE operations.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
