Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer for the PWV system.  In this position, the systems administrator will be responsible for all of the software deployments in the PWV system, managing outages, adding/decomm racks, and interfacing with monitoring teams using nagios commands and monitoring scripts. The following are required for the role: ELK stack, Salt, Puppet, Nagios, Jumpstreet and Nessus, system and firmware upgrades, deployments, user-facing support, and ticket resolution.

Qualifications

Must have: 

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of equivalent experience, or a Master's degree and 7 years of equivalent experience, or Associates degree and 9 years of equivalent experience.
    • Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Seven (7) years experience in system engineering/architecture.
  • Seven (7) years experience working with products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, Hadoop, Acumulo, Big Table, Cassandra, Scality et cetera.
  • At least seven (7) years experience writing software scripts using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby for software automation.
  • At least three (3) years of experience managing and monitoring large Cloud Systems.
  • Experience in performing and providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complete hardware/software systems to include monitoring technical health of a system, improving organizational processes, implementation of postmortem (failure) analysis and incident management.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
  • One of the following certifications is required:

    • AWS Certified Developer-Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Professional
    • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator-Associate
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKAD)
    • Elastic Certified Engineer
    • Elastic Certified Obervability Engineer

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
