Cyber Software Engineering, Senior Advisor

Responsibilities:

Peraton has an opportunity for a Software Engineer, Senior Advisor to work within the Compute Team, with a massively parallel enterprise platform, built with Java on Free and Open-Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop and Accumulo, to enable execution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure on the team. SE must have experience in Java Development and will proactively complete tasks with a strong attention to detail. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team and will be exposed to a variety of technologies depending on customer requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Twenty (20) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Minimally, the candidate should be skilled in Java, database technologies (MySQL Postgres etc) and havesome experience with Map Reduce programming model and technologies (such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig,etc).
• Possess additional knowledge of Linux OS development, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Ansible.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g.,Kubernetes).
