Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a senior Java developer to join our Cyber Intel team here in Laurel, MD. As a Cyber Software Engineer, you'll be assisting in building Test Automation as a Service for a large analytic cloud repository. You should have strong development skills sufficient to create tools/libraries for data creation and manipulation, system instrumentation and monitoring, and scenario tracking and reporting. Understanding the power of test automation and helping the team propel the idea forward is critical.

 

This work supports a prime program that delivers a wide set of capabilities across the enterprise to include the following:

  • Data management and delivery capabilities such as dataflow management, streaming analytic frameworks, a user-driven rules-based data management system, and the development and maintenances of customer systems and tools
  • High ingest rate cloud-based content and metadata architecture, analytic platforms, and enterprise-wide support of a suite of tools to improve developer and operator experience/productivity

To support an evolving infrastructure requires the use of methodologies that provide flexibility while reducing time-to-mission of new capabilities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required
  • Twenty (20) years’ experience as a software engineer or developer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with Java development.
  • Experience recommending new technologies and processes for complex software projects.

Desired skills:

  • Knowledge of REST, JSON, PKI, Selenium WebDriver, FitNesse, and JMeter/Gatling
  • A background in DevOps, Kubernetes

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
