Front End Java Developer

Peraton is seeking a Front End Java Developer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Location: Hybrid – On-site in Columbia, MD, 4 times per month

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and configure software systems to meet client and market requirements.
• Utilize expertise in technologies, methodologies, processes, and tools to support a large-scale federal IT system.
• Modernize legacy applications to deliver state-of-the-art user interface experiences.
• Write code in Java, with a focus on Spring Boot framework and Spring-based applications.
• Develop modern, responsive user interfaces using React.js.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience or Associate’s degree and 4 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 6 years experience. 
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Must have an active Secret clearance.
• Hands-on experience in React Front End development.
• Proficiency in HTML and CSS.
• Experience developing enterprise applications using Spring/Java MVC and integrating them with a React Frontend.
• Knowledge of JavaScript and JSP.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on a large-scale Federal IT program.
• Familiarity with the SAFe Agile delivery framework.
• Proficiency with Java development tools such as Git.
• Experience with Relational Databases/SQL.
