Engagement in model-driven DevOps will use an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approach to implement and operate a network automation framework at scale. The implementation will deliver: a single, unified API for a multivendor, brownfield infrastructure with the ability to scale horizontally; a centralized and unified source-of-truth with a common, vendor agnostic data model for simplified operations and data management; a simulated digital twin to enable continuous integration, including automated testing and validation of changes to the infrastructure; automated compliance and security validation of infrastructure including continuous STIG compliance; integration into existing workflow management and/or reporting tools; the tooling and operating process to integrate into an existing DevOps model. The Contractor shall perform the following functions in support of brownfield network automation DevOps:
• Management and optimization of network infrastructure using continuous integration and continuous deployment.
• Using test driven development to create compliance and governance checks as part of the overall automation pipeline.
• Continuous automation of existing manual tasks and repetitive processes related to network operations.
• Teaching existing network operators how to manage the network as software using GitOps/DevOps.
• Automation and management of physical/virtual infrastructure to support tools.
• Development of IaC and automation to deploy/redeploy any new or existing environments on demand.
• Operating and maintaining required tools and infrastructure, ensuring they comply with security policy.
• Creation and expansion of automation and pipeline capabilities.
• Integration of network automation pipeline into existing management tools.
