Peraton is seeking a Systems Integration Project Manager to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be supporting the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth in Boston, MA.
The person who takes this role will spend their first 6 weeks (orientation) onsite, 5 days a week, in the client’s Boston office.
After this orientation period, the person in this role will be in a hybrid onsite schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week, at the same Boston location.
Candidates will ONLY be considered if they live locally to Boston. Candidates who live more than 2 hours from downtown Boston will not be considered.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Using metrics and data where possible, work with management and project management team to implement best practices; such as system design reviews, schedule coordination, and project prioritization.
- Work to create a department wide view of each project, involving all the different groups (Cyber Security, Database, Applications, Desktop Support, etc.). Visualize and understand the goals and impacts of the project to identify and mitigate any system risks; at the beginning of a project and periodically throughout the lifecycle.
- Provide portfolio management and coordination for all IT initiatives and projects that include but are not limited to-upgrades, enhancements and security directives.
- Lead or support in the development of projects that impact user experience and integration with organization-wide applications and systems.
- Collaborate with the project management team and functional team managers to develop and nurture a highly competent and engaged team that delivers in an environment of continuous change
- Work with project management team and technical staff to recommend tools and technologies to deliver projects faster and with enhanced quality and security.
- Key team member in resolving major project or system issues and developing the resolution and testing strategy and approach
- Improve time-to-value for customers by leading solution implementation and identifying opportunities for process improvements. Vocal in challenging business-as-usual operating models.
- In coordination with all IT areas, develop technology upgrade strategies to keep IT operating systems, frameworks, database servers, and all other licensed software, up to date and on supported platforms.
- Oversee execution of key strategic projects and deliverables; engaging all relevant stakeholders to ensure success.
- Ensure projects progress with efficient use of resources by reviewing project milestones and deadlines, prioritization of tasks and checking that organizational dependencies are accounted and planned for.
- Work with team members to analyze project dependencies and resource overlap among projects.
- Respond dynamically to changing requirements, expectations, and priorities; manage all business objectives, technical needs, limitations, priorities, and risks.
- Coordinate and monitor activities and highlight anticipated issues or slippage. Work with team members to formulate corrective actions when project deliverables deviate from the work plan and projected Communicate project-related issues to managers for resolution.
- Ability to quickly build relationships and influence colleagues, business leaders, vendors and functional partners, skilled in negotiating conflicts in a constructive manner.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including work structures, schedules, major milestone roadmaps, communication plans, test plans, and change control procedures.
- Navigate ambiguity and develop a systemic approach and strategy to address and solve problems.
- High level of mental reasoning with the ability to address and resolve a wide range of intellectual and practical issues and concerns.
- Demonstrate technical writing skills, experience with proposals, RFPs/RFQs, with the ability to proofread and edit for proper grammar, punctuation and spelling in all documents produced.
- Support strategies for effecting change, controlling change, and helping people to adapt to change.
