Senior AWS SQL Database Administrator

We are Hiring! We alre looking to ass a Senior AWS SQL DBA. This hired individual  will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical Database RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance customer enterprise applications. This is a “hands-on” position requiring deep technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

What you will do:

• Design, Installation, Administration and Maintenance of SQL Server Instances in an On-Premise and multi-cloud environment (Azure and AWS)
• Owns the strategic direction for the database topography within the solution offering
• Create Users and assign permissions based on the level of database access
• Design database backup and restore strategy
• Design and build High-Availability as part of Disaster Recovery Strategy for the Databases (Failover Clustering, Always On, replication and log shipping) and SAN replication
• Configuring Azure/AWS Services PaaS/IaaS and migrate databases from on premise to Azure/AWS
• Configure and maintain Azure SQL instances, Azure SQL Managed Instances and Azure SQL Elastic Pools, MySQL Flex, PostgreSQL Flex
• Data refresh activities from production environments to non-production (development, test, QA, stage) environments and fixing orphan users
• Troubleshoot various problems that arise in the day-to-day operations and fix the issues
• Monitoring and Performance Tuning; Physical Server Level, Database level (Database settings and options) and query tuning to include index optimizations
• Database growth vs disk space available, audits, resource monitoring (I/O bottlenecks, memory pressure, CPU use)
• Monitor backups to ensure they are being performed regularly
• Recover the databases to a specific point of time
• Provide 24/7 on-call support on rotation basis

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree and 8 years of experience. Additional 4 years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of degree requirement.
• Must have Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience.
• Must have Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS experience
• Must have SSIS / SSAS / SSRS experience
• Experience with T-SQL and scripting
• Experience with backup/restore/migration tools (BCP, DMS, DMA, bacpac)
• Must be a US Citizen
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant and current industry certifications such as MVP, MCP, MCSA, MCDBA or MCSE are preferred 
• Experience with other Database technologies such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and public cloud offerings such as RDS and Azure SQL is preferred
• Experience with Firewalls and network IP, ports, TCP, UDR and CIDR
• Experience with PowerShell and CLI
• Experience with Linux operating systems, mysqldump, pg_dump
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant for Oracle (SSMA)
• Understanding of ITIL principle and process
