Systems Engineer- Mid

Peraton’s Space & Intelligence Sector is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our diverse team at our Herndon, VA, office. The candidate will work within a cross-functional Agile Scrum Team as a jack of all trades, maintaining applications running in Kubernetes, working as a Linux systems administrator, and working with the Information Assurance team to maintain systems documentation. This position is 100% on-site.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree requirement
• 3+ years deploying and maintaining systems running on Linux or other UNIX-like systems – including at least 2 years of Linux
• 3+ years of software/system design and architecture
• 3+ years maintaining systems documentation
• 3+ years of enterprise-level software development
• TS/SCI with current poly or ability to obtain a poly

Preferred Qualifications

• Security+ or equivalent certification and willingness to serve as a privileged user supporting deployed systems testing
• 2 years working with DevOps or DevSecOps teams in deploying and troubleshooting container-based systems
• 2 years’ experience with Kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift or another variant)
• Experience with NiFi
• Experience with Requirements management
• Experience with cross-domain systems
