Responsibilities

We are hiring! Our FDA Program is looking to add a Linux Administrator. This qualified individual will join a high performing team.

 

What You'll Do

  • The Linux team job functions include providing operational support to FDA on premise and cloud based (AWS and Azure) datacenters
  • Will work on Image creation and server provisioning
  • Patching, Reporting ,Creating, and maintaining documentation/SOP's
  • Working directly with customers to integrate applications
  • Scripting and automation of tasks, high level problem solving
  • Troubleshooting a wide variety of issues within defined SLAs
  •  Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency
  • Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts
  •  Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery
  • This  position is 8-5 ET and requires participating in a 24/7 on-call schedule

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA; or 4 years with no degree.
  • Experience with Linux operation systems, Red Hat Satellite/Capsule/ OEL, Foreman, Pacemaker, Cisco hardware builds and provisioning with Kickstart.
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Linux, Ubuntu, Veritas SF/Infoscale vcs/vxvm/vxfs, Linux build automation/recovery, OpenShift, OCFS2, Ansible Tower, Scaler.
  • Understanding of common security products (Splunk, Lumension/Ivanti, etc.),
  •  Familiar with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Management, VMWare VSphere (e.g., ESXi, vCenter) administration and support, Linux Systems Administration, Storage
  • Experience with Net App, Cloud computing instance and service provisioning (e.g., Amazon Web Service, Azure, etc.), Infrastructure as Code experience (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
  • Automation skills via scripting (e.g., ksh, bash, yams, Oracle Linux patching) automation skills and PowerShell).
  • SolarWinds monitoring experience
  • ServiceNow or other ticketing systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Agency Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple tasks
  • Certified and experience with AWS, Azure, Centrify
  • Strong understanding of server backup, experience with vulnerability scanning and threat mitigation technologies, Server hardening, OSCAP

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
