Join our Strategic Innovation Center in Herndon, VA as a Scrum Master and support exciting projects across Peraton in areas such as communications, space, cybersecurity, defense, health, and mobile.  You’ll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative, supportive environment that allows you to grow your skills and your career while building experience in a variety of different projects and domains. 

 

The initial assignment will involve serving as the Scrum Master for multiple teams simulataneously within our Internal Research and Development (IRAD) program and may include tasks such as:

  • Leading and coordinating team participation in all Agile ceremonies. 
  • Prioritizing features, user stories, and identifying team velocity.
  • Working with Product Owners to identify priorities, participate in Sprint Reviews, Backlog Refinement, and lead team daily stand-up meetings.
  • Working collaboratively among cross-functional teams.
  • Providing support to the Technical Director, the Release Train Engineer (RTE), and Senior Leadership. Coordinating across teams to facilitate synergy and success for Peraton research projects.
  • Leading teams in working on unusually complex technical problems and providing product solutions in accordance with Agile Methodologies.
  • Facilitate teams in breaking down large scale objectives into manageable epics and stories
  • Creating and updating user stories in GitLab.
  • Submitting status reports and deliverables.
  • Developing and delivering working level and senior leadership briefs.
  • Understanding Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) processes and how to utilize these within day to day activities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelors w/ 5 years of experience or Masters w/ 3 YOE in the IT field, including at least two years of experience as a Scrum Master
  • Experience working with Agile development tools, such as GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, and/or Artifactory
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to foster collaborative relationships at all levels of engineering and management
  • Must be comfortable leading multiple teams as a Scrum Master, driving alignment and Agile practices
  • Ability to resolve project impediments quickly and accurately
  • Good organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize work and multitask
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a clearance in the future

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Existing certification as a Scrum Master
  • Existing security clearance

Location:

This is a Hybrid role, candidate's must live within 20 miles of Herndon, VA.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
