Responsibilities

Ready to (1) join NGA’s Enterprise Engineering & Architecture Integration and Modernization Division to drive cross-Agency GEOINT ground modernization to advance Mission capabilities; (2) leverage and expand your technical expertise related to new technologies and services across the Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) cycle; and (3) drive transformation of enterprise systems and agile engineering and integration processes within NGA’s Digital Engineering Environment (e.g., Architecture, Requirements, Interfaces, Digital Engineering Processes and Tools)? 

 

We are looking for a Senior-level Integration Engineer to join our dynamic, fast paced NEE Joint Agency Engineering & Integration Team to provide technical leadership to end-to-end analysis and coordination of enterprise impacts resulting from GEOINT ground modernization activities with multi-Agency touchpoints.  You will lead and provide a variety of systems engineering services, to digitally research, assess, and document impacts to the enterprise architecture, requirements, interfaces, CONOPS, schedule, and test; identify associated costs and risks; and develop recommended Courses of Action (COAs).  You will build effective relationships across Government Organizations to ensure a coordinated enterprise solution to deliver IC missions.     

 

Working with your NEE Project Lead, you will generate solutions through Enterprise-level architectures.  Define and assess Requirements using Capabilities, Epics, and Features.  Assess Roadmaps.  Participate in Joint/Enterprise Milestone Events.  Execute Enterprise Governance and Configuration Management processes.  Work hands-on with Digital / Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Tableau).  Your integration engineering ensures enterprise services and organizations work together in an integrated fashion to deliver mission capabilities and solutions.         

 

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop Enterprise Engineering Artifacts in support of Joint Agency Mission / Ground Modernization Activities: Architecture Views, Requirements, Epics, Roadmaps, CONOPS
  • Lead development of digital workflows and task management (e.g., Jira Kanban and Advanced Roadmaps), digital Portals (e.g., Confluence), and digital Dashboards (Tableau) for the Government Customer to capture team plans of work, provide a cross-Organization information collaboration portal, and visualize analysis results
  • Assess Joint Agency Requests for Change (RFCs) to identify NGA enterprise baseline impacts
  • Lead and perform multidisciplinary (architecture, requirements, interfaces, schedule, cost, user) 1st Look impact analysis that highlights impact to NGA from Mission Partner ground modernization activities
  • Work with GEOINT Users to understand and quantify mission impacts from joint Agency GEOINT architecture ground modernization activities (e.g., System Retirements); develop Mission Use Cases, CONOPS alternatives, Requirements to satisfy capability gaps
  • Execute deep dive analysis to develop COAs and recommendations to mitigate impacts to NGA from Mission Partner ground modernization activities
  • Provide technical oversight, joint risk management, and continuous enterprise reporting as solutions are implemented
  • Participate in NGA Digital Engineering (DE) Program Increment Planning Events, Demos, and Forums as a DE Stakeholder/User, to drive development of Features to support Integration and Modernization Division analysis and visualization
  • Participate in Joint Agency and NGA Boards and Forums to drive ground modernization activities and identify areas of risk and concern for elevation to the Government Customer
  • Participate in Joint Agency and NGA Risk Management processes
  • Facilitate a single point of entry for Mission Partners to engage
  • Coach systems engineers from other organizations on NGA Enterprise Engineering processes
  • Mentor and oversee the work of Mid- and Junior-Level Contractor Systems Integrators and Engineers on the Joint Agency Engineering & Integration Team
  • Identify areas of growth and expansion of the Joint Agency Engineering & Integration Team Work; with the Project Lead to propose new tasking to the Government Customer.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.
  • 12+ years technical experience is required. If that 12 years is as a Systems Integrator, it may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 12+ years' of system integration working experience in government integrating large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments.
  • TS/SCI with ability to obtain a poly

Desired: 

  • Documented Senior-level work experience and demonstrated knowledge:
    • In the field of geospatial intelligence
    • Of the GEOINT TCPED cycle and familiarity with systems / services that comprise TCPED
    • Of Needs and Collection Management, to include joint NGA / Mission Partner interfaces and data/message flows
    • With NGA and/or its Mission Partners
    • With National, Tactical, Commercial, and/or other Data Providers
    • With GEOINT Standards and Metadata
  • Experience throughout the Systems Engineering lifecycle (Architecture, Requirements, CONOPS, Design, Integration, Test, O&M, Decommission)
  • Project/Task leadership
  • Strong analytic background performing Analysis of Alternatives and various technical engineering assessments
  • Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering processes and tools
  • Training and certification in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), with hands-on adoption and implementation in previous projects

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
