LGSS Technical SME

Peraton is seeking a Technical SME who will be a key contributor in the modernization and migration of the current Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (LGSS) on-premises systems to the cloud to meet the future demands. Work with the Group Lead and Systems Architect to support the full life-cycle development of future infrastructure, product generation, and ground command and control components as they are modernized.  Reports to the Modernization Group Lead.  Manages subordinate technical staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.  Coordinates with multiple working groups and engineering teams.  Ensures requirements and specifications are met. Ensures project/department milestones are met and adhere to approved budgets. 

Responsibilities include the following:

• Serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert
• Work with management, customers, and external contractors regarding resources, plans, and designs
• Provide cloud strategies and define interfaces for moving data in/out of the cloud
• Evaluate existing applications and solution their move to the cloud
• Assist in defining future cloud architectures, cloud services, and cloud applications
• Evaluate technical design, development, and implementation of system services
• Assist with Program Increment Planning
• Interface with Cloud providers
• Identify technical risks, risk reduction mitigations, and opportunity identification
• Define, prioritize, assign, and monitor team tasks, individual workloads and assignments
• Provide oversight in standards, best practices, and technical specifications
• Interact with customers regarding strategies, requirements, problem solving, and support
• Communicate project status to various levels of management
• Interface with management for reach-back support
• Work with minimal supervision/guidance
• Occasional CONUS travel

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 16 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 14 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 10 years with PhD
• Ten or more years supporting JPSS/LGSS architectures.
• Eight or more years supporting JPSS/LGSS system integrations
• Five or more years of experience in a JPSS/LGSS supervisor role
• Knowledge of cloud-based products, applications, and services
• Expertise in solution design and development, vendor interaction, and enterprise application support
• Proven experience in managing relationships with vendors/consultants, team members, and customers
• Established project management skills
• Must have an active Public Trust security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiar with agile scrum frameworks
