Responsibilities

Ready to make an impact and be a part of our Nation’s defense? Peraton is seeking a Configuration Management Engineer to support Missile Defense Agency (MDA) at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB), CA.  In this role you will support the Eastern/Western Range Operational Communications Services (EWOCS) Contract. The successful candidate will understand current MDA needs and work with USG to manage future systems.  The Configuration Management Engineer analyzes changes of product design to determine the effect on the product design and function and determines and prepares documentation necessary for change. Works with team to establish and manage documentation. Authorizes the release of drawings, and software configuration changes specified by management and other functional groups.  As Configuration Management Engineer your efforts will directly support our Nations missile defense system communications that are employed on behalf of our client and USG.

 

The Configuration Management Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

  • Reporting to Program Management at VSFB, as well as other contractor personnel who support contract activities.
  • Program Planning and Coordinating review schedules.
  • Work with Chief Engineer, and Program Leadership to Provide and Review Engineering Designs
  • Support the Development of Cost Estimates (ROMS), Bill of Materials BOMS, Basis of Estimates (BOE’s), and Request for Proposal (RFPs)
  • Management of program documentation
  • Attending and supporting meetings requested by the Government.
  • Proactively ensure the completion of Peraton, Site, and/or Government directed training and tasks within the specified timelines.

Qualifications

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience: 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 4 years with AS degree; in lieu of degree, 6 years experience may be considered. 
  • Security clearance - this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance thereafter. 
  • Working knowledge of Systems Engineering and Configuration Management
  • Ability to understand Engineering Drawings and Standards

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • MDA Expertise and Experience necessary to work directly with our MDA Government customer
  • Strong skills using engineering drawing tools and standards.
  • Familiarity with IP Camera Surveillance Systems, Access and Entry Control devices, Voice over IP systems, Telemetry Systems, Facility modifications to include power, cabling, and building modifications, and analog communications system technologies.
  • Experience with Launch Range and Test System (LTRS), and MDA Test Programs.
  • Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering Principles (INCOSE Certified)
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
  • Strong and Proven Communication skills
  • CMPIC Certification or equivalent

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
