Responsibilities

Peraton has an immediate opportunity for a fully cleared Cyber Systems Engineer to join our Cyber Intel team here in Laurel, MD!

 

We are looking for a systems engineer who has a background in Linux systems administration as well, and who can work in a dynamic and operational environment supporting PWV Cloud based repositories. A successful candidate for this position would have experience in the following:

  • Working with large Elastic based clusters.
  • Interfacing with hardware, software, security, and network teams would benefit the candidate as well as experience with Bash, Python, and configuration management tools such as Puppet.
  • Monitoring systems and resolving or escalating network and data flow alerts for cloud systems hardware, software or network problems.
  • Linux system administration for large Elastic based clusters, a strong background in troubleshooting operational system issues as they arise, and strong Linux admin skills.
  • Working in a high tempo mission environment where requirements change on a daily basis due to operational and world events.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor system health
  • Troubleshoot system problems
  • Maintain storage systems
  • Interface with external teams for hardware, network, and infrastructure support
  • Ensure system security requirements are satisfied
  • Participate in engineering discussions
  • Create/maintain system scripts
  • Patch/upgrade system
  • Administer user accounts
  • Aaintain hardware inventory
  • Provide after hours on-call/call-in support

Qualifications

Required experience and education:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
  • Seventeen (17) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required (Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree)
  • Must be DOD IAT Level 1 (or higher) certified

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
