Peraton is seeking a Data Analytics Specialist - Cyber Security & Enterprise Architecture Planning to become part of Peratons’ Department of State (DoS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective, and secure business processes. 

 

Location: Rosslyn, VA

 

Role: The U.S. Department of State is seeking a highly skilled Data Analytics Specialist to join our Cyber Security team with a focus on enterprise architecture planning and emerging technologies. This role is pivotal in assessing process flows for cyber assessments, designing data architectures for disparate knowledge stores, and leveraging cloud environments (such as Azure or AWS) for scalable, secure solutions. You will work to integrate emerging technologies, including AI/ML, into cybersecurity operations through the development of custom data schemas. Using tools like Power BI and Tableau, you will create comprehensive data visualizations and insights, helping to inform strategic decisions that enhance the Department’s cybersecurity infrastructure. Strong technical writing skills are essential to document processes, architecture, and recommendations for leadership and technical teams. 

 

In this role, you will: 

 

  • Assess and optimize enterprise-level process flows for cybersecurity assessments, ensuring secure, efficient handling and integration of data across cloud and on-premise environments. 
  • Design and manage data architectures that integrate disparate knowledge stores, enabling better data management and cybersecurity intelligence. 
  • Utilize cloud environments (Azure, AWS) to develop scalable, secure, and flexible data architectures for cybersecurity operations. 
  • Employ data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) to generate insightful reports and dashboards that drive strategic decision-making. 
  • Develop custom data schemas to facilitate the integration of AI/ML models for predictive analytics, cyber threat detection, and automated data processing. 
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams to align cybersecurity data strategies with broader IT goals and emerging technology trends. 
  • Conduct research and analysis of emerging cybersecurity technologies, including AI, ML, and automation, to propose innovative solutions for improving cybersecurity defenses. 
  • Write detailed technical documents, including architecture plans, process flows, schema designs, and recommendations for technology adoption.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 14 years experience in data analysis and identification and documentation of data characteristics and entity relationships.
  • Possess at least ONE of the following certifications:
    • CASP+ CE, CCISO, CCNA Cyber Ops, CCNA-Security, CCNP Security, CEH, CFR, CISA, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, Cloud+, CySA+, GCED, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, GSLC, SCYBER
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in data analysis, cybersecurity, or enterprise architecture planning with demonstrated experience in cloud environments (Azure, AWS). 
  • Experience designing and managing cloud-based data architectures and integrating disparate data sources. 
  • Proficiency with data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to create dynamic reports and visualizations for cybersecurity insights. 
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their application in cybersecurity, particularly in processing and analyzing large datasets. 
  • Demonstrated experience in custom schema design, enabling the integration of emerging technologies into data workflows. 
  • Demonstrated strong technical writing skills for documentation of processes, architecture, and technical recommendations. 
  • Familiarity with industry cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA) and knowledge of enterprise-level cybersecurity strategies. 
  • Proven ability to work within cross-functional teams, providing data-driven insights for strategic enterprise planning. 
  • U.S. citizenship required. 
  • Active Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance with SCI.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
