Responsibilities

Our Site Reliability Engineer will have the opportunity to:

  • Monitor, analyze, and detect cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision.
  • Assist with integrated, dynamic cyber defense, coordinates and maintains security toolsets to support organizations’ continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs.
  • Establish a framework by which cyber risk can be measured and quantified in the marketplace.
  • Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration issues; preparing cost estimates.
  • Implement security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment; directing equipment and software installation and calibration; preparing preventive and reactive measures; creating, transmitting, and maintaining keys; providing technical support; completing documentation.
  • Verify security systems by developing and implementing test scripts. Maintains security by monitoring and ensuring compliance to standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response analyses; developing and conducting training programs.
  • Be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and integration of a DoD IA architectures, systems, or system components for use within computing, network, and enclave environments.
  • Ensure that the architecture and design of development and operational systems are functional and secure. This includes designs for program of record systems and special purpose processing nodes with platform IT interconnectivity.

Qualifications

  • Eight (8) years with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a similar degree will be considered.
  • One of the following certifications are required:
    • AWS Certified Developer-Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Professional
    • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKAD)
    • Elastic Certified Engineer
    • Elastic Certified Observability Engineer
  • Eight (8) years' of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Seven (7) years' experience in system engineering/architecture.
  • Seven (7) years' experience working with products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, Hadoop, Acumulo, Big Table, Cassandra, Scality, et cetera.
  • At least Seven (7) years' experience writing software scripts using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby for software automation.
  • At least four (4) years' of experience managing and monitoring large Cloud System
  • Experience in performing and providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complete hardware/software systems to include monitoring technical health of a system, improving organizational processes, implementation of postmortem (failure) analysis and incident management
  • Required: ElasticSearch, AWS, and System Administration or DevOps experience
  • Key Skills and Experience include:
      • AWS Commercial Cloud experience
      • Elastic Experience (AWS cloud or other)
      • Puppet/SIMP experience

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
