Responsibilities

Peraton is looking for a Network Engineer (NE) to lead a new effort with one of our longstanding customers. In this role, the NE shall provide technical leadership in the planning, investigation, design and implementation of physical and logical communications solutions. The NE is responsible for the overall integration of Local Area Networks (LANs), Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs), and Wide-Area Networks (WANs), including the planning, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of LAN/MAN/WAN interfaces with service providers. The NE shall plan, design, implement, test, and support network solutions between multiple platforms, conduct security audits and develop detailed network diagrams and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Eight (8) years' experience with the following:
    • Designing, architecting, and supporting both Cisco and Linux routing systems
  • Five (5) years' experience with the following:
    • Planning, designing, and analyzing LANs
    • Overseeing the implementation and test/troublshooting activities
    • Reviewing and approving changes to the design and implementation
    • Documenting installed systems
    • Recommending and operating the network management and and control systems to maintain the LAN hardware and software
    • Working with operating systems and protocol such as Cisco IOS and NX-OS, Linux routing technologies, Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
    • VMware virtualization
  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA (equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Forensic Science or related fields accepted in lieu of a degree)
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Security, Computer Security, and/or Network Administration from an accredited university/college; or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related scientific/technical field
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain SCI and poly

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
