Responsibilities

Peraton seeks a Joint Interface Control Officer Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MARFORPAC, at Camp Smith, HI.

  • Serve as MARFORPAC SME on Marine Corps tactical data link (TDL) systems and architectures with expert experience in building major exercise and contingency tactical data link architectures that construct USMC kill chains that integrate with Joint Kill chains/webs.
  • Knowledge of Marine Corps tactical systems and applications includes but is not limited to: Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S), Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) Low Volume Terminal (LVT) 11, Battlefield Awareness and Targeting Systems Dismounted (BATS-D)/PRC-161, Small Tactical Terminal (STT)/KOR-24A, MIDS AN/USQ-140 (V) 1, MIDS Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) AN/USQ-190(V)5(C), Joint Range Extension Applications Protocol (JREAP), AN/PRC-117 Multiband Networking Manpack Radio, Tactical Radio Application eXtension (TRAX), Move out/Jump Off (MOJO) systems; as well as knowledge of TDL integration with USMC systems such as AN/TPS-80 Ground/Air Task-Oriented Radar (G/ATOR), Light Marine Air-Defense Integrated System (LMADIS), M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS).
  • Advise/assist U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) and U.S. Pacific Fleet (PACFLT) in developing the Marine Corps' portion of a data link architecture to satisfy information exchange requirements (IER) in support of Joint kill chains.
  • Implement DoD policy for interface control in coordination with PACFLT and assigned Fleet Marine Forces (FMF).
  • Coordinate execution of INDOPACOM’s and the TFACC’s intent and guidance for tactical data links in DoD and international environments for training and crisis response, to include coordination between military services, other government agencies, and partner nations.
  • Coordinate across MFP staff section to assist in the development of plans, setting objectives and achieving goals related to peacetime and wartime IERs related to closing Joint kill chains.
  • Coordinate with higher, adjacent, and subordinate commands to incrementally improve critical theater multi- tactical datalink architectures, equipment and networks while fostering effective procedures and innovative applications which support the employment of airpower and the operations of MFP.
  • Act as the SME for the Marines in the Pacific theater on all datalink protocols and datalink exchange requirements, to include working with foreign partner nations.
  • Monitor and evaluate all datalink hardware, firmware, and software upgrades and coordinate with appropriate Program Management Offices and Marine Corps Network Design Facility for support and updates.
  • Advise and directs units on standards of operation in the MARFORPAC theater Multi-TDL Network.
  • Advise technicians throughout the MARFORPAC Area of Operations on methods of resolving and troubleshooting TDL problems.
  • Recommend changes to operations and maintenance processes to improve mission readiness and TDL system capabilities.
  • Provide advice and technical assistance to Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC), INDOPACOM, MARFORPAC, and Major Subordinate Command (MSC) staffs to improve processes and technical support of datalink systems.
  • Provide kill chain assessment/analysis to appropriate stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Plan for and provide recommendations on the employment of TDL systems to target audience(s) to achieve COMMARFORPAC desired effects.
  • Conduct briefings, provide written or oral reports/ presentation and updates for staff and decision makers.
  • Supports policy advice, technical assistance, and support to MARFORPAC in the planning, coordination, de-confliction, and implementation TDLs.
  • Provides course of action development recommendations and participates in operational planning for kill chains.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

 

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience. 
  • Must have experience with USMC tactical systems.
  • Experience with MARFORPAC and in the USINDOPACOM AOR.
  • Ability to work independently and develop and present complex briefings for senior-leader decision making.
  • Experience in writing OPTASKLINK for operations and exercises.
  • Experience in coordinating with service Network Design Facilities (NDF) in creating new Link 16 networks and modifying existing networks.
  • Completed all or some of the below Joint Interoperability Division- Training Center Courses:
    • JT-102 - (MAJIC) Multi-TDL Advanced Joint Interoperability Course
    • JT-201 - Multi-TDL Planners Course
    • JT-301 - CAPSTONE- Joint Interface Control Officer Course (JICO)
    • Joint Interface Control Officer training
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance required.

 

Preferred:

  • BS/BA Degree or higher (not required).

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
