Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Configuration Management Engineer (CME) in our Chantilly, VA office in support of our Department of Defense customer.  As part of this highly talented, motivated, and high-performing team, you will support documentation and software configuration management and quality assurance of a cloud-based infrastructure system providing five distinct services to a multitude of stakeholders. Responsibilities: 

  • Develops, implements, and maintains overarching Configuration Management (CM) plan including procedures and establishes responsibilities, authorities, and plan approval levels
  • Owns and maintain the program Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRLs) and process to deliver quarterly CDRLs to the government customer including assures quality and technical review is conducted for each CDRL
    • Coordinates with CDRL managers to review and validate that CDRLs are updated and maintained in accordance with contract requirements.
    • CDRLs include (but are not limited to: Program Management Plan (PMP), System Sustainment Plan (SSP), Configuration Management Plan (CMP), Data Accession List (DAL), Technical Data Package including Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Architecture Description Documents (ADDs), System Description Documents (SDSs), and other technical CDRLs
  • Maintains software CM tools for program CM repository to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products
    • Identifies, implements and uses industry best practice(s) to track the established CM repository
    • Responsible for training program individuals in the use of CM tools
  • Recommends and executes procedures for verifying accuracy of configuration items, adherence to CM process, and identifying process deficiencies
    • Monitors standards compliance, as well as change and release implementation
  • Maintain the program process assets library including all process definitions, templates, and document samples
  • Develops, implements, and maintains overarching quality assurance (QA) procedures and establishes responsibilities, authorities, and plan approval levels. Documents and reviews findings and coordinates corrective action with internal stakeholders
  • Performs process and product evaluations (audits) to ensure compliance with established policies, processes, procedures, and applicable standards
  • Performs a variety of technical and administrative activities related to the function of QA (auditing), including, but not limited to checklist development, report writing, facilitating root cause/lessons learned analysis, and internal/external presentations.
  • Participates in program Request For Change (RFC) and Change Control Board (CCB) meetings. to address changes in baseline

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Holds an active Top Secret clearance with SCI or SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical, management, or related field and 8+ years of experience in configuration management related field; Or a Master’s degree and 6+ years of experience in a configuration management related field.  Four (4) years of equivalent experience may be substituted for Bachelors. 
  • Experience maintaining and using configuration management tools
  • Experience managing and tracking code versions between development, test, and production environments
  • Ability to work with management, developers, and external staff to ensure there is timely flow from each level of review and that the required artifacts are completed and archived per policy and procedure

Desired Qualifications

  • Holds a CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent certification
  • Experience working with and understanding of Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence
  • Experience working with or on a team using SAFeAgile methodologies

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
