Responsibilities

 

We are hiring!  We are looking to add a Senior Technical Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) / Dev/Sec/Ops Cloud Manager to the team. This hired individual will join a team of high performers. 

 

What you will do:

  •  Technically lead and provide hands on support for a Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) / DevSecOps team providing end to end 24/7 engineering and delivery support for multiple AWS hosting environments with integrated tools and applications.
  • Responsible for daily customer interaction and the management of all team tasks with accountability for deliverables, metrics, dashboards, and ultimately the success of the customer.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a service (PaaS) solution through cross technology administration for Amazon web services.
  • Lead efforts to utilize AWS platform services such as Amazon EC2, Lambda, CodeStar, Amazon Elastic Container Services, Fargate, and Amazon EKS to design and build modern applications that are more secure, reliable, scalable, and quickly available for customers.
  • Lead technical discussions with multiple stakeholders to include clients at all levels, application teams, suppliers, and program managers.
  • Work closely with other leaders in a matrixed environment to collaborate and ensure all teams work together to successful delivery and provide ongoing maintenance of application releases, upgrades, new projects, etc.
  • Shape, execute and deliver solutions for a broad range of customer use cases from large enterprise customers.
  • Provide expert thought leadership and enhancement of the infrastructure, application and cloud management methodologies and lead the implementation of industry best practices.
  • Assist in defining enterprise operating models for AWS and driving buy-in across complex organization structures.
  • Manage cloud-based disaster recovery, high availability, and other similar technologies for providing business continuity.
  • Manage public cloud consumption cost management and provide cost savings recommendations to business users.
  • Conduct project and issue management (including staffing, financials, quality, status reporting, risk/issue reporting) for assigned scope of work and make decisions that impact the team through regular consultation with senior management.
  • Lead client infrastructure & cloud migration engagements, including cloud migration strategy, application cloud suitability/readiness assessment, migration roadmap planning, sourcing options, proposal development, business case development and re-engineering applications that can fully leverage the AWS Cloud.
  • Present at an executive level how to ensure modern applications can be fully cloud optimized to reap the benefits of elasticity, horizontal scalability, automation and high availability.
  • Analyze application portfolios, identifying dependencies & common infrastructure platform components, and assessing transformation feasibility Introducing mechanisms for wide scale adoption such as Cloud and DevOps enablement functions, Centers of Excellence, Enterprise re-skill models.
  • Lead design, implementation and migration to new IT infrastructure and cloud (IaaS/PaaS) environments for new applications and workload migrations from on-prem to cloud using various techniques such as re-platform, rehost, rearchitect etc. and use service introduction process to accept workloads for cloud delivery operations.

 

Program Leadership Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the overall team administration, planning, tasking, scheduling, communications, problem resolution, deliverables, and technical performance of the project activities defined in the Task Order Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Manage tasks with multiple projects of significant complexity, size, risk, and complex interdependencies.
  • Conduct project and issue management (including staffing, financials, quality, status reporting, risk/issue reporting) for assigned scope of work and make decisions that impact the team through regular consultation with senior management.
  • Review and approve all integrated project schedules and deliverables and ensure they are aligned with client requirements for assigned team scope of work.
  • Responsible for ensuring all project schedules are on track, deliverables are met, and client escalations are addressed. 
  • Monitor progress and reports to customer and manager. Ensures quality of team's work and on-time completion.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to the customer program leads. Interacts with client to understand program requirements and timelines, to ensure resources availability, and existing assets to leverage. 
  • Interface with executive level customers and internal/external stakeholders to ensure client-satisfaction regarding program goals and objectives.
  • Provide executive level status and monthly reports regarding the tracking and presentation of program deliverables.
  • Lead joint stakeholder meetings and maintains strong, positive interoffice and client relations. Provide representation in cross-organizational workgroups, communities of practice, project teams, etc.  Collaborate with client to define new projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure escalations do not occur within the program by taking a proactive role in the constant vigilance and rigor to emphasize compliance throughout all levels of the program (systems, personnel, and data).

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 12 years of experience, may have supervisory or management experience
  • Leadership and technical hands-on skills, knowledge and experience in delivering of Cloud based solutions to include previously leading a Cloud Delivery team managing AWS core services such as:
    • Telecom networks, Cloud & DevOps, cutting-edge cloud AWS Architecture.
    • VPC, Route53, S3, EC2, IAM, RDS, EBS, and Gateways
    • AWS Management console and configuring AWS services, including CloudWatch, SNS, CloudTrail, and VPC Flow logs; Infrastructure automation using scripting languages, including Terraform and CloudFormation
    • Setting up infrastructure monitoring and alerting in public cloud using infrastructure monitoring tools, including Splunk and CloudWatch
    • Managing cloud hygiene and compliance
    • AWS cost optimization, and managing reserve instances and savings plans
    • Creating chargeback reports for customer
  • Experience documenting and explaining Cloud infrastructure and application solution architectures to senior leaders to include cloud design technology, process landscape and overall solution strategy.
  • Experience with AWS cloud technologies and knowledge of IT infrastructure and application technology process and tools.
  • Experience in providing secured solutions in the cloud environment.
  • Expereince leading Enterprise Solution Architectures within the Cloud and Operations Support Systems.
  • 12 years technical and program management experience, including diverse experience in the development, integration, operations and/or maintenance of complex systems and technologies.
  • System and Application Development methodology experience.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure and service availability throughout the enterprise.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement with demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity.
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing events and competing priorities internally and with the client.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills, capable of translating and presenting complex technical and project management concepts to management and customers, through presentations and other written formats.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  AWS Practitioner / AWS Architect Certification.
  • Bachelor’s Degree a or a Masters Degree
  • Active 6C Public Trust clearance

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
