Cloud Software Engineer, Senior Associate

Peraton has an immediate opportunity for a Cloud Software Engineer to join our Cyber Intel team here in Laurel, MD!

The Cloud Software Engineer will work, within the Compute Team, with a massively parallel enterprise platform, built with Java on Free and Open-Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop and Accumulo, to enable execution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure. Peraton is seeking a self-motivated Java developer who proactively completes tasks with a strong attention to detail. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team and will be exposed to a variety of technologies depending on customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

• An active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph is required
• Three (3) or more years of directly related experience as a software engineer is required
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field is required
  • An additional four (4) years of experience can be substituted without the degree
• Minimally, the candidate should be skilled in Java, database technologies (MySQL Postgres etc) and have some experience with Map Reduce programming model and technologies (such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc)
• Possess additional knowledge of Linux OS development, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Ansible
• One of the following certifications required:
  • AWS Certified Developer-Associate
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • Elastic Certified Engineer

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
