Responsibilities

Peraton is seeing a Systems Engineer to design, implement, deploy, and sustain shared disks storage. Work on performance analysis and troubleshooting, data recovery strategies, and data backup measures. Evaluate and recommend alternate storage systems vs Linux NFS. (examples; MinIO, CEPH). Test alternate storage, develop migration plans and implement storage transition. Create and maintain user guides and SOPs. Provide recommendations to operational infrastructure configuration settings, performance tuning, operations usage and troubleshooting. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required with six (6) years’ experience as a SE in contracts of similar scope and complexity is required. Four (4) years of additional SE experience may be substitued for a BS degree.
  • Experience in the design, implementation, deployment, and sustainment of disk storage.
  • Maintain virtual machine architecture (Nutanix) for system administration access to networked appliances.
  • Experience with infrastructure support systems (e.g., Gigamon, Splunk virtual infrastructure, Juniper devices, CISCO ASA & ISR series devices, Rubrik, PaloAlto, LINUX NFS, NiFi servers).
  • Perform routine and regular patching and upgrades to software applications, network operating systems, and network appliances required to maintain system accreditation. 
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing, operating, tuning, optimizing, and maintaining solutions to provide virtualization, storage, data protection, and networking services. 
  • Experience with SALT automation for infrastucture management, remote execution, and configuration management of device configuration files, software applications (e.g., LibreNMs, IPAM, NetBox), and operating systems (e.g., RedHat, Centos) 
  • Knowledge of AWS Cloud Hosting environments 
  • Knowledge of tools NetBox and Confluence for documentation of hardware and software development, tests, and production environments

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
