Responsibilities

Peraton requires Automation Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3.  Positions are located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL, and at the TSOC and Component locations in the United States and abroad. 

 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

The Automation Engineer performs design of server and application architectures. Performs the administrative operation and maintenance of server hardware and software. Maintains system security and executes practices and procedures; monitors usage statistics and logs; monitors and remedies attempts to penetrate or corrupt server files. Provide technical support for Enterprise level systems and services, from planning & design through deployment. These efforts include the full range of systems infrastructure engineering design; enterprise architecture standards; prototyping; integration; including but not limited to; concept development; planning; requirements definition and analysis; systems design; integration; and deployment.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:  

  • Performs design of server and application architectures
  • Performs the administrative operation and maintenance of server hardware and software.
  • Maintains system security and executes practices and procedures; monitors usage statistics and logs; monitors and remedies attempts to penetrate or corrupt server files.
  • Provide technical support for Enterprise level systems and services, from planning & design through deployment.
  • These efforts include the full range of systems infrastructure engineering design; enterprise architecture standards; prototyping; integration; including but not limited to; concept development; planning; requirements definition and analysis; systems design; integration; and deployment.
  • Create or modify custom scripts and code using scripting languages (PowerShell).
  • Automating deployment of applications, system configurations, and security settings.
  • Perform native Systems Administration functions using Scripting in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years’ experience, MS degree with 6 years of experience, PhD with 3 years of experience.  Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • DoD TS clearance or above is required.
  • DoD 01-M IAT II certification required.
  • Strong experience with scripting languages and automation.
  • Competent to work at a high technical level on all phases of systems engineering activities.
  • Excellent communication and briefing skills; shows tact; effective listening skills and follow through.
  • Solid worth ethic and the ability to work in a mission critical environment.
  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work.

 

Desired qualifications:

  • DoDD 8570.01-M IAT III certification preferred.
  • Additional certifications, skills, experience, and/or knowledge as an automation engineer in support of an enterprise level IT effort in the DoD space

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
