Position: SIGINT Requirements Systems Engineer
Location: Cyber Mission Business Unit, Jessup, MD
Commitment:** Full-time, requiring 1,880 hours of annual support, stationed at the customer’s site.

 

At the forefront of cybersecurity innovation, Peraton is on the lookout for a dedicated SIGINT Requirements Systems Engineer to amplify our Cyber Mission business unit's capabilities. This pivotal role places you at the heart of the Intelligence Community’s most expansive engineering endeavors, where your contributions will directly influence national security.

 

In this high-impact position, you will spearhead systems engineering efforts, focusing on the meticulous development and planning of requirements for National SIGINT systems. Your expertise will bridge the aspirations of national-level customers and military services with the technological advances of overhead collection and processing systems. Collaborating closely with an elite cadre of Intelligence Community members, you’ll ensure that the voice of intelligence requirements resounds clearly, shaping the next generation of SIGINT capabilities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with government Systems Engineers and Intelligence Community partners to ensure seamless integration of new SIGINT systems across multiple platforms.
  • Engage in high-level discussions, working groups, and integrated product teams to monitor and guide the systems engineering lifecycle, from planning through deployment.
  • Produce comprehensive documentation that captures customer requirements, ensuring a clear roadmap for the fulfillment of these needs by forthcoming IC enterprise capabilities.
  • Participate actively in Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and decision-making processes, steering the development trajectory through critical decision gates.
  • Maintain open and effective communication channels with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives to advocate for the technical integrity, quality, and strategic alignment of projects.

Your background will ideally encompass a broad understanding of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288, covering Technical, Project, Enterprise, and Agreement Process Areas. Your ability to navigate complex project landscapes, coupled with a keen analytical mindset and exceptional communication skills, will be crucial to your success.

Qualifications

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline and at least 20 years of systems engineering experience. A Master’s or PhD Degree may be substituted for two years of experience. Note: A High School Diploma or GED plus 24 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
  • Knowledge of National SIGINT technologies, capabilities, and system architectural components (i.e. space systems, ground stations, ground processing systems, national collection requirements prioritization systems and processes.
  • Must be self-starter capable of working tasks to completion without direct immediate oversight.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to represent customer organization at intelligence community requirements working groups and other technical forums.
  • Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph; CCA Accepted

Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:

  • Ideal candidate would be Overhead SIGNT SME. Familiarity with IC organizations and processes may be a suitable replacement for detailed technical knowledge of current Overhead SIGINT system capabilities and their associated ground stations.
  • Some knowledge of DNI’s Intelligence Community Capability Requirements (ICCR) process and the Joint Capabilities Integration Development Systems (JCIDS) process would be valuable. The task generally operates at the enterprise and architectural level of the capabilities needs processes, and seldom requires deep dives into low level system requirements.
  • Knowledge of the customer’s Corporate Requirements process will be very helpful in being fully effective in this work role.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
