Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior RF Systems Engineer with experience focused on antennas and FISINT or ELINT Technical Collection Systems to join our team of technical and business experts providing operational and mission support to a SI/SETA mission for a classified customer in Northern, Virginia.

 

The ideal candidates will possess experience in Radio Frequency (RF) systems far field and near-field antenna testing, FISINT or ELINT Technical Collection Systems. They will possess strong communications and interpersonal skills, be a self-starter who will take initiative for helping manage key parts of complex technical developments and possess a desire and ability to work on multiple fast-paced projects.

 

Our unique team of technical and business disciplines provide operational support for Systems Engineering/Integration, Mission Planning, and Business Operations to multiple functional mission areas. The team is responsible for technical design, operations, and mission planning and business operations for the full life cycle of customer specific operations (from concept through development and installation/O&M).

 

The Senior RFSystems Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

  • Perform cascade analysis of RF parameter such as noise future and third order intercept point (IP3).
  • Create and maintain RF Link budgets.
  • Analyze and assess various RF systems performance.
  • Develop system requirements.
  • Implementation and promulgation of SE processes and best practices.
  • Evaluating Technical designs and system test plans.
  • Providing technical feedback on designs.
  • Supporting recurring program reviews.
  • Evaluating engineering control gate entry/exit readiness.

** While this role will accomplish most tasks On-site, Monday to Friday, Minimum TDY travel (<10%) or more is expected to CONUS Government Facilities and will be directed by the customer. No OCONUS travel is expected but available in some cases**

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • An Active/current TS/SCI with an active Polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, technical, or related technical field and 12+ years of relevant experience; master’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience; PhD and seven (7+) years of relevant experience.
  • Experienced in far field and near-field antenna testing.

  • Experience with engineering acceptance testing, integration, verification, and validation activities for complex systems.
  • Firm understanding of how customer needs drive RF system requirements and be able to use those to derive RF system component level requirements (antenna gain , noise figure, etc).

  • Experience creating and maintaining RF Link budgets.

  • Experience analyzing and assessing various RF systems performance.

  • Experienced in analysis, design , and testing of reflector antennas, phased arrays and ultra wide-band antennas.

  • Performed cascade analysis of RF parameter such as noise future and third order intercept point (IP3).

  • Knowledge/Experience related to antenna/feed design, modeling and testing.

  • Willingness and ability to do domestic TDY’s, (approx. 1 X every 6 weeks). to contractor sites as needed. No OCONUS travel is expected but is available in some cases.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in an engineering, science, or technical discipline and 15+ years of experience.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) for Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with scripting languages (MATLAB and Python).
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Previous experience with technical collection systems in the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Previous experience with FISINT or ELINT Systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Customer's processes and procedures to minimize the learning curve for project/task navigation.
  • Demonstrated effective client management skills to include experience managing across offices and organizations.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
