What you will do…
As a Facilities & Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting facilities and logistics requirements for the USMC enterprise cloud-hosting environment. Critical components include managing the physical plant for the on-premise datacenter including issues such as power, heat/cool, racks, cabling, and network buildouts. The position works collaboratively with the logistics coordinator to conduct inventory management of all datacenter assets, shipping and receiving, and datacenter facilities supply management.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborates with Data Center staff, vendors/suppliers and IT Center personnel in the assessment, planning, scheduling and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance for: Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Power, Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPS), IT Security Controls/Systems/Equipment, FIKE FM200 Fire Suppression System and Supporting Environmental Controls/Systems/Equipment.
- Responsible for the physical management of the automated facilities monitoring systems and supports/collaborates with the Facilities Management System Administrators to operate the automated facilities monitoring systems.
- Uses Enterprise ITSM Suite (Remedy) to track and manage all workload
- Responsible for monitoring, triage, assignment of working queues and execution of approved Data Center Battle Rhythm projects and activities across the Logistics and Facilities service area.
- Collects, analyzes and reports on trends, demand forecasts and capacity assessments of Data Center facilities infrastructure systems and components.
- Coordinates with vendors, suppliers and service providers for the scheduling, execution and validation of Preventative Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, Inspection and Required Test Events/Exercises.
- Responsible for the creation, maintenance and execution of isolation, shutdown and startup procedures for Data Center UPS systems.
- Supports Data Center and hosted customers in the installation and removal of IT rack hardware and supporting cable-runs within the Data Center and adjoining MDFs.
- Support Data Center Logistics Manager and HCS Reporting Officials (ROs), to coordinate the monitoring, triage, assignment of working queues and execution of approved Data Center Battle Rhythm projects and activities across the Logistics service area.
- Responsible for the management, execution and reporting of a multi-site Data Center Operational Sustainment and Lifecycle Sustainment Plan.
- Collects, tracks, analyzes, and reports on vendor/supplier service and product performance against established thresholds and objectives.
- Receives, validates, labels and readies hardware for Data Center inclusion and disposal, executing approved sanitization, destruction and DMRO actions and preparations.
- Maintains Data Center lifecycle logistics data within Enterprise and Data Center Registry/ITSM tool suites.
- Responsible for the tracking, logging, analyzing and reporting of vendor/supplier maintenance activities for validation, compliance and improvement opportunities.
- Creates, relates, links, publishes, tracks and reports on Data Center underpinning warranty and support contracts ensuring accuracy of data and completeness of coverage is maintained throughout the logistics lifecycle.
- Initiate, prepare and execute vendor/supplier RMA in accordance with OEM and Data Center CM processes and procedures.
- Establish, maintain, execute and report on a comprehensive Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) process ensuring Data Center assets and equipment are continually assessed for DMSMS and obsolescence.
- Supports and backfills the Facilities Management Coordinator role including support to all facilities management activities.
- Provides support for Peraton Asset Manager responsible for equipment accountability including maintaining inventory management system in collaboration with the Peraton Asset Manager
- Requires on-call rotational support for facilities/logistics requirements.
- Requires lifting up to 50 lbs; activities necessary to support data center physical plant management including climbing ladders and crawling in raised flooring; requires ability to walk/stand/lift for extended periods throughout the day; requires the ability to manipulate small objects in limited spaces (such as screws and connectors).
