Responsibilities

Peraton has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Cloud Software Engineer to join our Cloud Enabling Services team supporting government operations. This software engineer should be able to perform the following tasks:

  • Implement, tests, and operates advanced software security techniques in compliance with technical reference architecture
  • Performs on-going security testing and code review to improve software security
  • Troubleshoots and debugs issues that arise
  • Provides engineering designs for new software solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities
  • Contributes to all levels of the architecture and maintains technical documentation
  • Consults team members on secure coding practices. Develops a familiarity with new tools and best practices

Qualifications

Our Cloud Software Engineer, Advisor must have the following qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required
  • At least eight (8) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
    • Five (5) years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
  • Willingness to be a committer/contributor to open source applications
  • Experience in Java programming for distributed systems, that includes networking and multi-threading
  • A Hadoop/Cloud Developer Certification is required
  • Experience with the following skills is highly desired:
    • JavaScript/React/Angular/K8
    • UI work as well
    • Apache Hadoop
    • Apache Accumulo
    • Apache NiFi
    • Agile development experience
    • Experience with source code management practices and tools
    • Enabling tools: Git, Maven, Jira
    • Continuous Integration / Continuous Testing: Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab Cl/Pipelines
    • Continuous Monitoring: ELK Stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana), Nagios
    • Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
