Responsibilities

In this position with Peraton Labs, you will serve as the Radar System Engineer and Subject Matter Expert for efforts related to Precision Fires Radars (PFR) integrated with Armament Systems.  You will work strategically with Radar Team members, the Radar Team Lead, Government Branch Chief, Senior Government Leadership, and PM/Customer reps to execute System and Technical Engineering tasks for various PFR programs. The candidate will support PFR system development and integration through working with an interdisciplinary group of scientists and engineers, interfacing with IPT members from Academia, Industry, and Government, reviewing technical design materials, providing recommendations, conducting analysis tasks on advanced signal processing techniques and radar data, documenting project plans, system engineering artifacts, derived subsystem requirements and test planning and execution/support.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, implementing, and pro-actively correcting issues related to performance and technical risk management for PFR efforts
  • Providing support and subject matter expertise in various PFR disciplines related to the design, development, and testing of PFR systems and integration with armament systems, including high accuracy ground based radar systems tracking projectiles, threats (for some missions)
  • Enabling advanced capabilities through a Radar to Munition Datalink for Command guidance and Navigation support
  • Developing and utilizing modeling and simulation tools related to radar systems, signal processing, and tracker algorithms
  • Conducting technical analysis to evaluate performance of existing radar systems, suggesting methods of improvement of radar performance, and assessing future system performance in new mission areas

Qualifications

5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD

  • Degree in Physics or Computer/Electrical Engineering
  • Subject Matter Expert level knowledge of Radar Systems design in the areas of guided and unguided projectile tracking, Unmanned Aerial System tracking, missile tracking
  • Experience with RF data links to support control of guided projectiles
  • The ability to analyze recorded and simulated data from a variety of PFR systems, parsing, organization, manipulation of data to generate plots, tables, and derive meaningful conclusions based on specific project needs
  • Expertise in Signal processing, electronics design and fabrication, Radar/Radiofrequency system design and integration, project management, and general system engineering
  • Radar algorithm analysis experience using MATLAB
  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
  • Willingness to travel ~10%

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
