Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Linux System Administrator to support an Intel Community (IC) mission in Ft. Meade/Annapolis Junction, MD area.  A System Administrator provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
  • Configure and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree.
  • Ten (10) years' experience as an SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Experience with Linux
  • Active TS SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience with installing LINUX (Centos and/or RHEL)
  • Experience with troubleshooting LINUX performance, Storage, connectivity
  • Knowledge of virtual machine (VM) maintenance, building, troubleshooting
  • Experience with Shell Scripting
  • Knowledge of system patching using YUM
  • Experience with reading vulnerability reports, IAVA compliance, POA&Ms
  • Familarity with BISCOTTI and LATTEART
  • Familiarity with STE tools TRELLIS agent, Nessus, ENSL &UAM
  • Experiencew tih SecurityCentery Scanning
  • Experience with Nagios monitoring and administration
  • Familiarity with PKI Server Certificates - renewing and revoking
  • Familarity with Ansible playbooks and adhoc Ansible commands
  • Experience with creating and maintaining SOPs in Confluence

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
