Responsibilities

 

  • Analyze user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
  • Analyze system requirements and leads design and development activities
  • Guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology
  • Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
  • Develop technical documentation
  • Develop system Architecture and system design documentation
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
  • Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts
  • Assume the ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility
  • Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required
  • The ability to implement comprehensive SOA solutions
  • The ability to conduct and/or approve end-to-end system trade analyses to optimize system operations over its life-cycle through the proper balance of non-functional system performance areas
  • The ability to ensure effective, periodic review and control of the evolving configuration of a system, both hardware and software components and associated documentation, during the life of the system
  • The ability to develop system design alternatives that consider life cycle cost, reuse, complexity, risk, system expansion, and growth
  • The ability to maintain knowledge of current and evolving agency, national, and international standards applicable to the system development of interest
  •  The ability to recommend a preferred solution based on selection criteria adjusted
  • The ability to provide technical direction for the full systems engineering life cycle
  • The ability to fully define interfaces in terms of origination, destination, stimulus, and data characteristics for software; and electrical and mechanical characteristics for hardware
  • Seventeen (17) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph required.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Monitor, build, and deploy cloud based software releases using MAVEN, Git, Git Lab, and SVN and provide support for development, test, and pre-production, and production deployments and environments.
  • Run and update build scripts and shell scripts. Proficiency in UNIX/LINUX is required.
  • Document and update holdings in Confluence to include SOPs, CM/Deployment deliverables, objective criteria, and CM Plans.
  • Manage and update JIRA Tickets. Provide testing and verification when needed.
  • Setup and maintain an ongoing automated continuous build / integration / Deployment (CI/CD) infrastructure for multiple deployment environments
  • Enable successful release management by moving code from dev and test environments to staging and production, and from the commercial unclassified environment.
  • Manage/Improve the CM tools and processes, perform builds, schedule, package/install releases, and document changes.
  • Document and coordinate with developers and leadership on releases and work any issues/blockers. Create and follow a set deployment schedule to move releases through the various environments in a timely manner. Provide status and plans each week to the customer and operations team to ensure all dependencies and requirements are met for a successful deployment.

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
