Position description:  

Peraton is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator II candidate to support an Intelligence Community customer in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area.

  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems availability.
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions and work with developers to implement those fixes.
  • Trouble-shoot, monitor, and resolve system issues as required to maintain operations
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Build, maintain, and deploy client and server systems.
  • Develop and maintain efficient/automated client system support.
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
  • Work with an Information Assurance team to ensure compliance with Authorizations to Operate (ATOs)
  • Liaise with COTs vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.

Qualifications

BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS 8-10

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Ability to obtain or eligibility for TS/SCI clearance adjudication, and ability to pass a poly
  • Must have a relevant technical degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.) or six years of equivalent experience
  • Must hold active CompTIAs 8570 Approved Certification
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or higher 
  • VMWare Experience
  • Capable of deploying and integrating new applications as well as learning new applications that run on various operating systems for testing and deployment
  • Experience with performance tuning/troubleshooting, identifying/resolving contention in CPU, memory, networking, disk I/O, etc.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Microsoft Windows Server Administration Certification
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or higher 
  • Experience maintaining applications built on a SQL Server database in a Windows environment. 
  • Experience writing scripts to monitor system services, resources, data mine logs, etc. 
  • Experience with STIG compliance remediation and ongoing system scanning and monitoring requirements
  • Experience with IC Cloud Architecture implementation methodologies
  • Experience maintaining system documentation including reading and creating network architecture diagrams

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
