Senior Linguist Technical Research Scientist

We are looking for candidates that have a dual background in software engineering and Chinese language studies with research experience for full-time positions.  Candidates will work as part of a team to research, conceive, and develop solutions by applying innovative approaches to solving problems.

The Linguist Technical Research Scientist will be expected to:

• Work under the direction of project managers and senior scientists to design, develop and test software modules related to emerging cyber, data mining, or big data analytics topics.
• Design, test, and execute web scrapers to collect publicly available information (PAI)
• Collaborate with teams to ingest, process, and structure collected PAI data, ensuring that any Chinese character encoded data is normalized and searchable
• Explore, enrich and analyze Chinese data and/or source documents using commercial, academic, open source and custom software tools
• Develop technical reports, briefings, analytical findings, and other finished project deliverables.
• Participate in progress briefings and technical exchange meetings; present analytical findings to industry subject matter experts.

Education/Experience Required:

• Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant experience.
• Master's Degree and 8 years of relevant experience
• Ph.D. and 5 years of relevant experience

Skills and Experience You Should Possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Ability to solve problems designing and implementing complex systems independently, as well as lead specific technical development efforts.
• Intermediate Chinese language reading ability (3+ years of XP)
• Demonstrated software development ability in Python
• Experience with source control tools such as “git”
• Experience in one or more of the following: advanced software programs, natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (ML), querying, automated processes, integration, and evaluation of datasets, software or malware reverse engineering.
• Experience working with Chinese character encoded data
• US Citizen with ability to qualify for a US security clearance.

• Top Secret
