Ready to make an impact! Peraton is seeking a driven Junior Risk Management Framework Engineer to work side by side with our client in either El Segundo, CA.

 

As a Risk Management Framework engineer, you understand how to apply cybersecurity to the development and delivery of cyber resilient systems. You will use your cybersecurity experience to create solutions that will be executed on a worldwide stage. We’re looking for a cyber specialist like you to apply your experience to impact our nation’s defenses.  

 

This is an opportunity to use your research and analysis abilities to adequately assess and inform key stakeholders on dynamic adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures for our client.

The Junior Risk Management Framework Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

  • Work with your team to provide advice on security control implementation and executing the RMF process for the customer's mission area.
  • Evaluate potential weaknesses as well as the effectiveness of mitigations for cybersecurity solutions.
  • Shall develop, maintain, and execute a Government-approved Cybersecurity program in accordance with DoDI 8510.01 – Risk Management Framework (RMF) and follow the DoD Cybersecurity Test and Evaluation Guidebook.
  • Shall assist in executing the goals and objectives laid out in the Remote Sensing Cyber Campaign Plan
  • Shall facilitate a Sustainment Division engineering risk program at the appropriate classification levels.
  • Shall record risk board discussions, work with the risk owner to document and resolve risks and present the results of all actions taken as part of the risk management process.
  • Shall facilitate, document and resolve program/project-specific risks at lower-level risk boards, forums and working groups.
  • Shall interface with prime development contractors’ risk management team and their associated risk boards to ensure that the impact of prime development contractors’ risks is properly reflected at the Sustainment Division level risk boards.
  • Shall recommend new risks as needed to resolve problems outside prime development contractor control.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have an active/current Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, or equivalent technical discipline with two (2) – four (4) years of relevant experience; Master's degree and zero experience – two (2) years of relevant experience; High-school Diploma/GED and eight (8) - 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a completed degree
  • Experience with engineering, implementing, and maintaining a cybersecurity program in accordance with DoDI 8510.01 - Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the DoD Cybersecurity Test and Evaluation Guidebook on a space-related (space, ground, software, hardware system) Major Defense Acquisition Programs
  • Experience developing resilient cybersecurity solutions and researching innovative cyber resilience strategies
  • Experience with evaluating security vulnerabilities, developing mitigation strategies, or implementing remediation activities
  • Experience with the system engineering life cycle, including requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and deployment
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word 
  • Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, Federally Funded Research and Developmental Centers (FFRDC), and associate contractor teammates to achieve program goals
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • A current TS/SCI security clearance
  • Master’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline
  • Experience with security tools and devices, including network firewalls, web proxy, intrusion prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, or penetration tools, or object-oriented programming languages, including Java or Python
  • Experience with space-based remote sensing systems
  • Experience with zero trust best practices and methodologies
  • Knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Committee on National Security Systems Instruction, including NIST SP 800-60, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-37, and CNSSI 1253
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certifications (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP)
  • IAT Level III Network Certification, including CCNP-Security
  • IAT Level III Security Certification, including CISSP, or CISM

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
