Ready to make an impact! Peraton is seeking a driven Journeyman Reliability Engineer to work side by side with our client in either El Segundo, CA.

 

As a Journeyman Reliability Engineer, you’ll work with U.S. Space Force to develop and rapidly deploy the next generation of resilient Missile Warning (MW), Tactical Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (TISR), and Environmental Monitoring (EM) capabilities to deter attacks and provide critical information to our war-fighters to defeat our enemies in battle.  Your customer will trust you to not only test, analyze, evaluate, validate, and verify these systems, but also identify areas requiring urgent mitigation up front and early to develop this system with advanced technology solutions.  Grow your skills by merging innovative engineering methodologies and cross-disciplinary coordination to create tomorrow’s solutions. The Journeyman Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

  • Coordinate Joint Reliability and Maintainability Evaluation Team (JRMET) charters and facilitate JRMET meetings.
  • Identify and provide the data to be used to develop program Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability strategies.
  • Identify sustainment requirements and document rationale in a Reliability, Availability, MaintainabilityCost (RAMC) Report IAW the DoD RAMC Report Manual.
  • Support overall engineering integration of Systems Engineering and Integration efforts for the DoD, government agencies, or commercial programs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have an active/current Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, or equivalent technical discipline with five (5) – seven (7) years of relevant experience; Master's degree and three (3) – five (5) years of relevant experience; PhD and zero experience – two (2) of relevant experience; High-school Diploma/GED and nine (9+) years of relevant experience in lieu of a completed degree
  • Minimum of three (3+) years of system reliability and maintainability experience supporting space-related (space, ground, software, hardware system) Major Defense Acquisition Programs
  • Experience performing system integration leading the overall role of relevant System Engineering for DoD, other Government Agency, or commercial programs or projects
  • Experience with Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability metric analysis
  • Experience with evaluating trending and out of tolerance behavior for the following system level Space Domain Awareness (SDA) metrics
  • Knowledge of systems engineering standards, including IEEE 15288.1, IEEE 15288.2, and Department of the Air Force Pamphlet (DAFPAM) 63-128, Appendix 6.9
  • Strong problem-solving skills, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, Federally Funded Research and Developmental Centers (FFRDC), and associate contractor teammates to achieve program goals

Desired Qualifications:

  • A current TS/SCI security clearance
  • Master’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline
  • Experience with performing systems engineering on space-based remote sensing systems
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certifications (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP)

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
