The Journeyman Configuration Management Analyst (CM/DM) will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

  • Establishes and maintains configuration and data management policies and procedures to be utilized by department personnel and other participating functions to ensure a standard and cost-effective approach to the application of configuration and data management requirements. 
  • Analyzes changes to product specifications to determine the effect on the product and determines and prepares documentation necessary for change control.
  • Designs and establishes configuration management documentation.
  • Authorizes the release of drawings, schedules and system configuration changes specified by management and other functional groups through the Request for Change process.
  • Operates configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and auditing. 
  • Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new configuration management baseline operating parameters are documented, comply with standard configurations, and are logistically sustainable. 
  • Works with standard commercial software products used for configuration management (e.g. DOORS, JSMART, etc.)

Additional responsibilities include:

  • May develop configuration standards for company-wide use.
  • May train requirement engineers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of CM quality standards.
  • May provide guidance to less experienced employees. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have an active/current SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, or equivalent technical discipline with five (5) – seven (7) years of relevant experience; Master's degree and three (3) – five (5) years of relevant experience; PhD and zero experience – two (2) of relevant experience; High-school Diploma/GED and nine (9+) years of relevant experience in lieu of a completed degree
  • Minimum of Three (3+) years of experience with supporting Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) activities on space-related (space, ground, software, hardware system) Major Defense Acquisition Programs
  • Experience with identifying, analyzing, and reporting impacts to the technical baseline through Technical Reports and impact assessments, and recommending solutions, mitigation, alternatives, and corrective actions at control board meetings
  • Experience developing and managing program documents IAW Government-directed control board actions, to include Interface Control Documents (ICDs), program Specs, Data Acquisition Lists (DALs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Specification Change Notices (SCN), and Interface Requirements Notices (IRN)
  • Experience developing, documenting, and executing a Lean-Agile CM process to manage the technical baseline at all integration levels
  • Ability to develop and maintain a government repository of all ICDs, Engineering Memos, Requirements Documents, and Sec Trees from all stakeholders, that will be available across the Remote Sensing Capability Areas.
  • Ability to facilitate, manage, brief, and participate in Government and program engineering review boards and change control boards such as program level Change Control Board (CCB) meetings, Engineering Review Board (ERB) meetings, and all related working group meetings
  • Ability to perform multiple systems engineering and program management functions in support of program milestones such as the Functional and Physical Configuration Audits
  • Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, Federally Funded Research and Developmental Centers (FFRDC), and associate contractor teammates to achieve program goals

Desired Qualifications:

  • A current TS/SCI security clearance
  • Experience on space-based remote sensing systems
  • Experience with using Model-Based Systems Engineering approach to manage system definitions and technical baselines
  • Experience working with large amounts of data
  • Experience utilizing metrics to improve processes and ensure consistency and standardization across the organization
  • Experience with planning and executing program reviews throughout the lifecycle of the system
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master’s degree
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certifications (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP)
  • Configuration Management Training Foundation (CMTF) CICM Certification

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
