Responsibilities

Peraton is looking for a motivate and driven Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic in Alexandria, VA.

 

Peraton has served as the prime contractor for the network contract since its inception in 1984. We provide executive-level government leaders reliable security voice, video, and fax communications anytime, anywhere, in any environment for day-today crisis management.

 

We provide a secure, worldwide, high-performance communications network comprised of real-time interactive applications operating over a dedicated IP backbone with secure services for complex national and worldwide executive-level communications. Peraton provides the O&M of the network infrastructure and its components.  The team provides IT hardware and software to support the goals of the contract, including performance based C4IM services, product support, and O&M for both legacy and newly installed systems. We provide integration for development of hardware and software solutions, and task support for the delivery of system, network, software, and security solutions.

 

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for but not limited to: 

  • Tier II phone support of reported customer incidents supporting network connections, conference room video systems, VoIP phones, and fax printer systems.
  • Provide End User support, to include in-room and external network support with graphical user interface access and operability; troubleshooting, scheduling and administering video teleconferences.
  • Provide maintenance, to include powering on devices, inspecting/connecting cabling, confirming system availability.
  • Conduct integration and configuration of existing VTC hardware, including application of security controls; operations and management support to the network infrastructure that underlies the VTC platform.
  • Patch and firmware upgrades, break/fix support and daily operations and management support, including onsite assistance for special events.
  • Remote and on-site support of preventive maintenance checks and services.
  • Coordination of all issues with the network operations center.
  • Recording and managing all activities using a ticketing system.
  • Documentation and reporting of all associated maintenance activities.
  • Develop and provide training to end users on the various systems in use when not supporting meetings.

**This role will be 100% On-site**

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • An Active/current TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or similar technical field) and two (2) years relevant professional experience; Associate degree and four (4) years of relevant experience; Master’s degree and zero years of relevant experience; High-school Diploma/ GED and eight (8) years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of four (4+) years of experience in IT services, with troubleshooting and equipment repair of VTC equipment (Voice, video, and conference room control equipment)
  • Minimum of four (4+) years of experience in operation and configuration of audio-visual and telepresence systems such as Cisco and AMX
  • Minimum of four (4+) years of experience with all phases of the system life cycle concerning audio-visual and telepresence systems
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, meet deadlines, and simultaneously develop, deploy, and coordinate multiple projects, demonstrable by work history

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or similar technical field) and four (4) years relevant professional experience; Associate degree and six (6) years of relevant experience; Master’s degree and two (2) years of relevant experience; High-school Diploma/ GED and 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Two (2+) or more years’ experience with Cisco phones, desktop videos, and CODECs
  • Three (3+) or more years’ experience installing Cisco switches and routers

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
