Flow Noise Research

Peraton is looking for a Flow Noise Researcher who specialized in Fluid Dynamics who will work as part of a team of recognized Navy - industry experts generating new understanding into flow noise generation for Naval vessels. 

• Individual will perform research in the state of the art in turbulent boundary layer noise generation including the effects of issues such as surface roughness, pressure gradient, and structural interactions. 
• Assist in the research into and development of noise simulation tools. 
• Perform advanced measurements (Particle Imaging Velocimetry, Laser Doppler Velocimetry) and analyze the results
• Estimate spectral content of flow noise and compare to model scale and full scale measurements.

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Fluid Dynamics with 3-5 years experience.
• Knowledge of turbulent boundary layer flow and noise generation required. 
• Knowledge of spectral analysis of flow noise a plus. 
• Active DoD SECRET Clearance preferred, must be able to obtain an Interim DoD Secret Clearance.
• US Citizenship required.
