Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Servo Subsystem Engineer to support our Deep Space Network (DSN) Operations and Maintenance O&M contract with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and NASA at our Fort Irwin, CA location.

 

The Servo Subsystem Engineer will support testing, maintaining and modifying GDSCC Tracking Station equipment related to Digital and Antenna Servo systems and subsystems. Such equipment includes, but is not limited to, commercial off the shelf general purpose computer systems and associated peripherals, special purpose digital computer devices, PLCs, electronics associated with the control and monitoring of antenna servo systems, Linux Computers, surveillance and CCTV systems.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Implement Engineering Change Orders.
  • Troubleshoot and repair failures using sub-system documentation, drawings and schematics.
  • Interface with internal and external customers
  • Analyze problems and direct repair
  • Document corrective action and analysis of problems using the DRMS and MAXIMO data bases
  • Assist operations as required
  • Direct implementation of Engineering Changes. Provide corrections and feedback to the appropriate Operation Engineer
  • Provide input for Engineering Changes
  • Collect and provide analysis of technical data
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Provide technical guidance and training to technical personnel
  • Interface with appropriate Operations Engineering (OE) personnel as well as Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) engineering

 

Qualifications

BS 0-2 Years or HS 6-8

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • BS Degree in Electronics, or equivalent or High School Diploma and 6 - 8 years of relevent experience.
  • 0-2 years of directly related experience with Mechanical Drives, Electronics, Computer systems, Data telemetry receiving systems, Linux Computers.
  • Experience with electronic troubleshooting, repair and maintenance
  • Experience working with PLCs
  • Must be able to read and understand documentation, drawings and schematics.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions and procedures without direct supervision.
  • Must have a valid California driver’s license.
  • Must able to obtain a trusted background check and pass a National Criminal Information Check (NCIC).  In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.

 

Desired Qualification:

 

  • Military Electronic schooling and experience.
  • Completed a safety program in accordance with OSHA and NFPA 70E

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
