Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior Windows System Administrator in Chantilly, VA, to manage and administer Windows resources and infrastructure on a dedicated network within a production environment in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) customer. The ideal candidate is a hands-on System Administrator with significant experience in developing and deploying repeatable processes, tools, and infrastructure that enable the delivery of capabilities in a production environment. They must have strong, firsthand technical expertise in various configurations, deployment, and continuous integration technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust solutions to keep pace with new development and end users. They must be at ease working in an agile environment with a cross-functional team. Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team to administer Windows-based cloud and on-prem hosts within the customer environments and lab environment in a repeatable and reliable manner
  • Harden Windows systems in support of customer security controls, apply OS updates and patches, and manage the underlying hardware
  • Installs, upgrades, maintains, and administers infrastructure software and hardware such as Windows Server, Leostream tools, Windows 10 OS, and desktop software (e.g., web browsers, Adobe Acrobat)
  • Create and deploy software packages/updates using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Resolve application and system software problems with applications to include secure print/scan, Sentris, MFA, VoIP, MS Skype for Business, MS Office 2019, and Windows Updates
  • Mitigate all vulnerability findings from network scans
  • Manage, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Active Directory and system health
  • Manage security and policy through the application of Global Policy Objects (GPO)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other engineering groups to gather requirements and elicit input on the production environment 
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in production systems
  • Troubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software systems and application issues
  • Work alongside other engineers on the team to sustain and advance our organization’s capabilities
  • Provides day-to-day factory support and troubleshooting for assigned systems
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the end-user community, to diagnose system issues
  • Write and update technical documentation such as system documentation, processes, and procedures

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • You have a strong technical background and 8-10 years of experience providing system administration and production support for Windows Operating systems
  • CompTIA Security + certification is required. CompTIA CASP preferred or working toward certification within six months of start date
  • You have Group Policy administration/Windows security/Windows Server Environment
  • You are required to work on-site due to classified nature of the program
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and can collaborate effectively with management, the customer, and user organizations across DoD
  • You are detail/ process-oriented, can multi-task, must have good analytical and communication skills

 

Desired Qualifications

  • You are familiar experience working with Linux systems
  • You have experience with Virtualization administration (OpenStack, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, and/or Leostream)
  • You have 3+ years of experience working with Splunk
  • You have extensive knowledge of advanced PowerShell scripting, Group Policy Objects (GPO) experience, Group Policy precedence order and scope of management, WMI filters, Group Policy Preferences, group-based GPO filtering
  • You have familiarity with current Intelligence Community and Department of Defense customer systems and associated security policies/procedures.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
